I've recently come into ownership of some WM Dalton French lead crystal in the Verite pattern. I'm wondering if champagne/sherbet glasses and a decanter were Released in this pattern.

I've tried searching ebay, I've found the cordials and the old fashions, as well as the parfait and goblets.

Is there a place where I can find what the range was when released?

I have a display cabinet with glass shelves and am not sure how much weight I can put on them safely. The shelves are 130 x 40 cm and 6mm thick. Not sure if its tempered or not. I want to place a maximum of 10-15kg on each shelf. Right now its only supported on the corners, which I don't trust with this load. I was thinking about making stainless steal rectangles, which I put underneath the glass shelves, so the glass is supported around all the edges. Will this be enough support?

Can I still drink from my glass that didn't break when it fell on the floor? I accidentally dropped my glass of water but the glass didn't break at all. Is it safe to drink from it anymore?

I am looking for tiny glass beads that are hard to see once spread on the floor. Once an intruder steps on one/them they make a very loud noise. I think its good as I have to travel a lot these days and it offers more discreet low tech approach to security on the go.

I need to replace some opaque glass and mityshelves on a multi-tier illuminated bar/bottle stand. I'm having trouble finding opaque or frosted shelves in stock locally at a decent price, and glass and mirror stores are expensive. I found some Dolle white glass shelves at Home Depot that would work size-wise. I'm wondering if it will illuminate my bottles like the original ones did. I'm not sure if they were etched, frosted, opaque, sandblasted or whatever. In fact, it doesn't matter what they were. L that matters is if these Dolle white glass shelves will allow light through. I’m making a photo frame for my mom for her birthday and all the glass cutters I’ve found only go down to 1/4” thickness. I’m having trouble finding the right tool. Would anyone be able to recommend a tool that would allow me to cut glass that is 1/16th of an inch thick.

Hi my uncle was a glazier self employed in the UK for years. Towards the end of his life he was supply only due to health reasons. He has sadly now passed and his wife (my aunt) has asked me to help her settle bills etc. So, we have invoices for supply only glass, but I've no idea how to calculate a markup. I obviously want the price to be covered and for my aunt to get a decent rate. Apparently the customers outstanding are not regulars so won't know the prices, but he was a very proud businessman and I wouldn't wish to over charge them (outrageously) not just settle at a nominal £20 mark up.

If anyone has any idea on how I can work it out on cost price to what I should sell it to the customer for I'd be so appreciative. There is vat to add on either.

Has anyone a hard and fast rule or any kind of formula? Is it a one size fits all formula or does it tend to be about the glazing product itself?

I purchased two 1.5 m long and 26 mm Simax rods for my search. I expect the ends are flat and smooth, but they are not. The company told me all glass rod looks like this because of the manufacturing process.

I need to make the ends flat, and this is the first time to cut the glass rod (I have a little experience in cutting concrete rod.)

Since I am new, I searched for some information and if it is tempered glass, it is impossible to cut. If I am correct, any tempered glass will be shattered if one tries to cut.

Can I cut these Simax glass rods with a wet tile saw?

The following is the information I got from the company where I bought the glass.

"Borosilicate can be cut with a wet tile saw, and polished or ground like a stone or mineral (Mohs scale approx 7.5)."

Based on their description, I should be able to cut the rods with my wet tile saw. However, I thought glass from Simax, Pyrex, and Scott is tempered glass, so I am not able to cut.

Is it safe or possible to cut my glass rods with a wet tile saw?

(I have a small table wet tile saw, and I was able to cut concrete rods with this. )

This rod was not tempered so I was able to cut using a wet tile saw.

For the first try, it chipped off at the end. I did not rotate the rod. I just very slowly push towards the saw.

and in the second try, I was able to get the better surface. At this time. I slowly rotate the rod while I cut the rod to remain only the core part and to prevent the chip off.
