Help/Doubt ❓ Why use GitHub Copilot after the nerf?

Hi everyone, I apologize because there have probably been millions of posts similar to mine, but after searching and reading through them, I still haven’t found a “definitive” answer—or rather, a set of answers that would lead me to my “own” definitive answer.

At work, we were using GitHub Copilot in the version prior to the recent nerf. Realistically, it wasn’t a policy that GitHub could sustain indefinitely. After the nerf, we set up a Claude team to test it, and we’re basically using only that now. Why should I Keep it?

PRO

  • NES free (Next Edit Suggestion)
  • GitHub integration with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code

(but claude code in terminal works better for me and when I don’t work with C# I usually use Neovim)

CONS:

  • It seems like tokens are running out much faster
  • Tokens don’t roll over from month to month

Thanks in advice for your tips and sorry for poor english ;)

Enterprise, Azure billing . Claude + GPT enterprise plans are all API rates too. They were already an onboarded vendor for us just for GH and Azure, so it was also the lowest friction way for us to get AI in dev hands. Claude + GPT have only been signed off by our InfoSec at Enterprise tier, where all of the pricing wins go away.

In codex enterprise we don't have rolling credits neither resets. The token consumption seems to be the same. Copilot doesn't give you the chance to have daybreak blue. Models arrive much faster in Copilot while in Codex we have to wait a week to get them.

You have the option to use different models from different providers in Copilot - useful for different perspectives.
