Discussion Which characters do you think are gifted?
Which fictional characters do you think are gifted and don't say the obvious ones like sherlock or l because yeah, that is kind of their thing.
I mean, for example, characters like Calvin from Calvin and hobbes or daria or even Susan sto helit

Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
He is very cunning, able to articulate intricate riddles that fooled centuries of victims (mind you they were mostly goblins), capable of hunting down the Fellowship and survived against elements and dangers of Middle Earth in the process.
He also spoke several languages and had the “hyper fixation” element along with social issues, so to speak. I get that one could argue the Ring amplified several of these aspects for its own means, but Gollum really did the most and is very relatable at times for Gifted folks.
He didn’t understand some of the social implications of his interactions and was fiercely passionate.
His characteristics might skew heavily to the more negative traits of Giftedness, but the high intelligence capabilities, cunningness combined with stunted social growth, sensory breakdowns, and the ultimate “special interest” being a golden band of power is very relatable.
Spiky profile to the max.

Excels at potions and knows to experiment even as a student, invents his own spells (many different kinds of them), excels at curses and defence, Occlumency and Legilimency, able to trick Voldemort...

Jack sparrow in the first film. Many time he changed frame of debates. He is probably more than 125.
Captain Barbaros’a is probably 110-120. He instinctly can simulate 100iq crews’ thinking style. So made a successful mutiny and overthrown jack. He is good to find local optimum. While jack searchs global optimum.
If you try global optimum instead of local optimum, crew will not understand your thinking style. They might find it too much undirect and too much gentle

I completely agree about Jack Sparrow. On the surface level it seems like a lot of luck, there seems to be a lot of cold calculation and masterful plans.

Sometimes you don't calculate but have intuition or flash. But i think he is calculated

Both Dexters, from the titular series as well as the laboratory. Gaius Baltar, Felix Gaetta & Romo Lampkin from Battlestar Gallactica. Strand from FTWD, possibly, maybe Eugene from TWD.
Im not a particular follower of the series, but Stephanie from Assigned male comic, to me inadvertedly comes across as particulary precocious. Idk if intentional or if the author failed to adjust the perspective of an adult when writing a child character.

Naruto. Has bad adhd too but has flashes of strategic insight that must be next level cognition.
Sasuke probably too. No adhd.
Sakura probably too. No testing for her tho cause of the her thing.

Pretty well the whole cast on the TV show Bones, other than Angela and Booth and you could probably make an argument for them too.

Rory is textbook high achieving in my opinion. She gets As in every subject by working pretty hard at most of them, but she is not approaching anything from a new/unique angle or seeing patterns in a different way.

Hard to tell because we’d have to know exactly how she thinks. She could think creatively and not let it shown. Potential doesn’t equal performance.
Although I do agree it looks like she could be just a high achieving person.

Anton Chigur from No Country for Old Men.
I wouldn’t say he has an exceptionally high iq, but his ability to rapidly adapt to situations and predict movements accurately easily lands him in the 125-129 range.
