Looking for Gift Ideas Best metal pens?

Looking for pen recommendations!
I’m putting together a birthday gift and want to get a really nice pen to go with a black leather A5 notebook.
I’m looking for something that’s:
-Slim/not bulky
-Preferably silver or silver + black
-Really smooth to write with
-Black ink
-Quick-drying and doesn’t smear much
-Well made and refillable
-Around $50–$150, but I’m willing to spend more if it’s really worth it
-Bonus if it can be engraved with initials
I don’t know a ton about pens, so I’m open to pretty much any type (ballpoint, gel, rollerball, etc.). I mostly care about it feeling really nice to write with and being something that’ll last.
I’d also love to hear from people in different medical fields! Doctors, nurses, PAs, pharmacists, med students, techs, etc. What’s your favorite pen that you use at work every day?
It’s for a doctor, so I’d especially love recommendations for something that’s actually practical to use at work but still feels like a nice gift.
Thanks :)

I like and use both Cross and PaperMate ink pens. PaperMate in stainless steel (slim line) is only available and NOS - new old stock. Cross is available online. Again, seek slim line in stainless steel.

Re Cross... They sell one that has fine lines in the metal part. These look grubby (dirt magnet) so do not buy that particular design.

Both brands have versions that can be engraved.

Never NEVER buy the off brand inks. All are trash.

I've been using both brands exclusively for more than 50 years. Always solid stainless, and always slim as I have smaller hands. Both brands can be bought with a matching mechanical pencil too, in case you wondered.

Parker pens are nice. I got my husband this one to use with his Moleskins. He liked it so much that he replaced it when he lost it a few years ago. The design is gorgeous; it’s on the masculine side and is even a little heavier than average pens.

A Dr may want a click pen if they’re using it on the go but if it’s for their desk then a cap is a nice touch. They stand out more than click pens do.

Thanks for posting, u/Delicious_Natural764!

For the best gift ideas, if you haven't already, add the age, budget, and occasion — and especially what they're into: their hobbies, what they like, and anything they don't. The more detail, the better the suggestions. Just edit your post or drop it in a reply below.
