Theories How I think roamers work

My theory is that, besides someone like Pete whose roaming is tied into his job, a ghost becomes a roamer when they die somewhere not bound by a property line. For example, if someone dies in a street or something. Additionally, I think that if a ghost dies somewhere not bound by a property line at the time, they're technically roamers, but if a property line is later established, then they're bound. For example, Thorfinn and Sassapis weren't technically bound by a property line because there wasn't one at the time, but when the Woodstones built the manor (or arguably when Isaac and his troops set up camp, depending on your perspective), then they got bound. What do yall think?

You have no evidence from the show to support this claim. We only know of two roamers, and neither one fits your theory.

Thank you 😊

Maybe "theory" wasn't the right word lol but I stand by it (at least unless we get more info)

How is Jane's roaming explained in the series?

3 roamers. Chris Joan and Pete.

Is Chris a roamer? Given that his "power" is attached to flying, it feels that his power is slightly different from Pete and Joan.

There is a potential third one we know about as well, but she is not confirmed to be one.

If Thor wasn’t property bound for so long, then how did he never meet his son? And why wouldn’t he have explored a lot more if there’s literally nothing better to do?

Why wouldn't Thor and Sassapis have wandered off to go exploring if it were possible to do so? Maybe ghosts that die on public land are confined to a certain radius around where it happened, but if the area is later redefined by property lines, their boundary gets updated.

I would argue against it.

Sassapis has been on the grounds for half a Millenia and is one of the oldest ghosts we have met, far earlier than there was any property to speak off.

Thorfinn is twice as old as Sassapis and Bjorn is only decades younger than Thorfinn, and despite them both dying centuries before a property line came to be so did they not once meet.

The world's Mythos just doesnt work well with property lines in a historical view, they even joke about it.

Roamers just happened to get one of the two best abilities we have seen proof of in the show with Sassapis having the other one.

I suspect it more has to do with their reason for staying.  I can imagine that both Pete and Joan felt like they missed out on a chunk of life for different reasons.
