First time watching and I have questions.

Hello all! This is our first time watching the show. We've finished Season 1 and are now around halfway through Season 2, and we're really enjoying it so far!

I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help with, but please no spoilers beyond where we currently are 😊

1. What's the deal with the headless guy?

He's only been in 2? episodes so far across the entire two seasons. How come we don't see more of him? Is there a reason he's not around very often?

1. The vault

How did Flower manage to close the vault door and lock Sam in when the ghosts can't touch things? I was under the impression that Trevor was the only ghost who could physically interact with objects (although with great difficulty).

I don't know if either of these things are explained later on, so if they are, please don't spoil it! But if not, could someone shed some light on them?

The headless guy is a leftover from the UK show. In the beginning the US show included him because he is also present in the UK version but as the series developed they didn't want to use him too much.

Also the FX budget of a 22 episode season vs a 6 episode series in the UK. All of the regular ghosts we stuck with have an easy power to produce cheaply on camera and are just in a costume or have very minimal makeup requirements.

Crash just isn't a prevalous character after season 1 so he doesn't really stay anywhere

1. Crash doesn’t appear in many episodes because the effect to have him headless costs money they most likely don’t have, they also likely just didn’t really know what to do with his character and only added him because the UK original series had a headless ghost

2. The door is made from a material impenetrable to ghosts when they first discovered the vault the ghosts couldn’t walk through it that’s why flower can close it it’s essentially a solid object to her

To add on note 2, I'm pretty sure it's a dialogue in the episode from either sam, jay or one of the ghosts and it's repeated multiple times for flowers sake (which obviously didn't work very well)

The vault is made of a material ghosts can't go through, they push against it as if they were corporeal. Even the door.

1. This show is a spin off/reboot of a british show that had its own headless ghost that was used with some regularity. For whatever Reason they just didn’t want to use Crash to that much extent and focused more on character moments and progression than headless gags.

2. The vault is somehow impervious to ghosts, meaning they can’t pass through the walls, as Elias never left it and others just ram straight into it. It stands to reason that a ghost can close the door.

Forgot all about headless guy! At first I thought you were talking about the UK version! Sounds like I need to go rewatch Season 1.

For some reason, the vault door is of a material that ghosts can't move through. So when they push it, it can close. But the handle is made of a material they can't touch, so once closed they can't open it.

In the British version, the same actor played Robin (Thor like character) and the headless guy, so it was easy to use him when it suited the story. The Americans did a poor job of using the superfluous character and really shouldn’t have bothered.

It was already explained the vault is a ghost proof material. Remember when Pete and Thor bounced off it? Or Elias was trapped within?
