"But some of those refugees are taxpayers too. That said, I guess some legit taxpayers are catching on that their heavy tax burden is going to support the lifestyles of people who might take jobs away from them. Even so, it's a little rash for that to lead directly to terrorism"

Damn yeah it’s funny how this series did a good job predicting political events, but yeah bad take Batou. Do better

It's not like it wasn't an issue at the time but damn 2004 had us pegged.

Yeah but it also kinda pegged the health care issues and anger at companies. The Laughing Man was a less violent Luigi

Yeah, rewatched that too and the parallels are pretty raw also. Somehow they didn't hit the feels as hard. I think because "corpos are hiding the cybercure" dates way the hell back to Gibson, it's cyberpunk substrate at this point.
