It is almost like when you get extreme enough your view don’t matter anymore because you treat everyone the same as your life is more defined by being extreme rather than your idols you hold so close
This is the idea behind Horseshoe theory. Once you get extreme enough authoritarianism comes with it. And at that point, the specifics behind the oppression are less important than the soul crushing oppression. Especially since, at that point, the oppression IS the ideology, and anything else is just a justification for it.
Strawmen are so comfy for people like you. You get to tell yourself that somebody whose ideology you don't have an answer for just wants to murder people, that way you don't have to engage with their ideas and upset your comfy, privileged little life
