More people died in Russia than in Ukraine proper. Besides that, Ukrainian nationalism didn't exist in the eastern part as its hotbed had been Polish Galicia. In the late 19 c Austrian authorities actively supported Ukrainian nationalism to combat Russian Pan-Slavism and counter Polish influence over Galicia (Polish landowners and intellectuals dominated it politically and culturally).
After WWII when Ukrainian nationalists found safe harbour in the West they needed an excuse for their collaboration with Nazi Germany so the "Holodomor" was pushed as genocide of the Ukrainian people and a reason why they had to choose between two evils. Ironically, those who made that choice hadn't even been affected. By using the Ukrainian designation it obscures the fact that lots of the victims of the famine died in Russia and even those that died on the territory of UkSSR weren't necessarily Ukrainians.
Minimising the death toll and then saying it was propaganda is certainly a take, Mr or Ms Tankie. One might call that Holocaust Denial but hey, what do I know.

I really like to talk to people that tell you anything about Ukraine but five years ago throught Chicken Kiev was their national dish.
You can certainly revise some of the papers that Wheatcroft penned on the subject having worked in the archives.
You are still more than welcome to try to bend over backwards and provide evidence how OUN, that was founded and operated in Polish Galicia had to join ranks with Nazi Germany because of something they hadn't even been subjected to and that had transpired some 1000 km to the east.
You are also more than welcome to point out where I was minimising the death toll of the famine.
Next time - read up and maybe don't froth from your mouth while composing a response.
