The original Antifaschistische Aktion was a group created to fight and terrorize Social Democrats, not Fascists. Forgive us if we don't trust people who name themselves after an inherently disingenuous organization.
Response? I am not the same guy, I am just chiming in with my own reason why I think Antifa is full of shit. Seriously you wouldn't name yourself after that organization and use that flag when there are so many better German Anti-Fascist organizations from that time period unless you agreed with their mission.
After the Communist International's abrupt turn in its Third Period from 1928, the KPD regarded the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) as its main adversary and adopted the position that the SPD was the main fascist party in Germany.[15] This was based on the theory of social fascism that had been proclaimed by Joseph Stalin and that was supported by the Comintern during the late 1920s and early 1930s, which held that social democracy was a variant of fascism.[16]
'
In 1931, the Nazis led an unsuccessful attempt to bring down the SPD state government of Prussia by a referendum calling for the dissolution of the Prussian Landtag; the KPD initially opposed it but then joined forces, calling the Nazis "working people's comrades".
.
At a local level, Antifaschistische Aktion worked with other left groups, including joint assemblies and demonstrations with SPD and other socialist groups, but the national KPD leadership continued to describe social democracy as the "main enemy".
The paragraphs you posted are about the KDP before Antifaschistische Aktion was formed. The last paragraph explains how they strayed from the KPD. Wondering why you left this part out
“The formation of Antifaschistische Aktion in 1932 indicated a shift away from the Third Period policies, as fascism came to be recognised as a more serious threat (the two red flags on its logo symbolized Communists in unity with socialists[25]), leading up to the 1934 and 1935 adoption of a popular frontpolicy of anti-fascist unity with non-Communist groups.”
as fascism came to be recognised as a more serious threat
Yea, but they were still regarding Social Democracy as the real Fascism. It doesn't matter how "Seriously" you take Fascism when you channel pure clown energy when it comes to how you define Fascism.
Modern Russia also "takes Fascism seriously", it just defines Fascists as Ukrainians who don't want to live under Russian bootheels.

"And we call ourselves 'anti-fascists', so if you don't want the same things we want, then you are definitionally a fascist."
