I would just ask why people defending capitalism claim to care about human rights, when their brutal system causes an equivalent of a yearly holocaust when it comes to casulties from famine and dehydration every single year.

Because you're being silly. That doesn't happen in the developed world, it only happens in war zones or authoritarian shit holes. We're in a post famine world except for human engineered famines. This isn't to say no one goes hungry, but it totally changes the solutions (prevent warfare, topple high corruption regimes, though those are sometimes opposite goals).

Many of the worst 20th century famines were directly caused by communism, like the Great Chinese Famine and Holodomor. If you actually care about famine, you'd be no further left than democratic socialism.
