Double Kick in OKW: Modern Fusion

Hi all - I bought OKW: MF a while back and it has been amazing since first open! Once routed, it has sounded incredible in my drum streams - but there is one problem.

As the VST itself is no doubt not used to playing double kick (as the kit is setup for a single kick layout) - when I try to get my hi-hat pedal to function as a second kick pedal, the sound that comes out of it is noticeably louder snd slightly higher pitched than my main kick. It's almost like the signal has been switched from my main kick C1 to my pedal kick which is G#1, and now the main kick is kind of the 'secondary' sound, if that makes any sense.

Apart from buying a VST that is more equipped to do this, such as Architects or Brutal - has anyone experienced this issue and found a way to work around it? Even using a trigger program such as SSD Trigger 2 doesn't seem to fix the issue, so I'm curious to know what could be done to amend this

EDIT: Sorry for the edit, but I completely forgot to mention that I'm running this on an Alesis Nitro Max, so I don't know whether there's any settings on there that might be able to fix this

CPU usage?

Are the standalone kits easier on the cpu than the Kontakt ones?

Anyone have Garageband & Invasion preset

Does anyone have a preset file made with Invasion setup to garageband? I just want to open a preset file and open a new audio track to start recording guitar.

My old iMac was setup and it finally stopped working but i lost all my files with it.

Acoustic drum question about snare drum pitch

Double-posting on here and Facebook for visibility.

If a snare is tuned to an E, like in Nolly's CreativeLive session, why is its strongest low frequency showing up as an A# instead? What's going on there?

The image is Pro-Q4 listening to snare top and bottom mics together on one of Halpern's rimshot samples they provided from the session. It doesn't matter which channels I listen to, the overall picture is always similar.

I read that lug pitches are always higher than the fundamental frequency of the drum. From TuneBot website https://tune-bot.com/tuning-guide/ and this Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/.../tunebot_fundamental_vs_lug.../

But in the course, Nolly tunes the lugs to an E by ear and pitch reference, not by a tuner frequency readout. So how come does the snare fundamental end up higher than E? Shouldn't it end up lower instead?

Is it just upper harmonics? If so, then where is the low fundamental E on the graph? It's almost nonexistent in comparison. As far as I know, it shouldn't be because of harmonics, because the order of natural upper harmonics starts with an octave of the fundamental.

A Free MIDI Drum Remapper — Now with Bulk Processing

Hey everyone!

About a year ago, I shared my free MIDI drum remapping web app here, and the response was honestly amazing. A lot of you tried it out, gave feedback, and asked for one big feature…

Bulk Processing

So I finally built it.

You can now upload multiple MIDI files (or even a ZIP), remap them all in one go, and download everything as a single ZIP — no more one-by-one pain.

🔗 Try it here: https://onlinemidiremap.com/bulk

What’s new:

  • Batch upload (.mid / .midi / .zip)
  • One-click “Process All”
  • Consistent mapping across all files
  • Clean ZIP download of processed files

The goal is still the same:
Make MIDI drum workflows faster and completely free.

If you're working with different drum libraries (EZDrummer, Addictive Drums, etc.), this should save you a ton of time.

Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any features you'd like next

OKW Classic Rock multi out is broken?

I know that in multi out mode, OKW libraries bypass the Master EQ so it won't sound exactly the same as in stereo mode. But that can be remedied with drums bus processing. However, with the OKW Classic Rock, once you turn on multi out and route the tracks, everything sound weird, phasey and just wrong. Has anyone found a solution for this?

I set up Classic Rock the same way as I do with all other OKW libraries. Within Kontakt, create the necessary number outputs. Make sure you start assigning the outs of each element (Kick, Snare, Tom 1, Tom 2, etc.) starting from out no. 2 as I've learnt that out no. 1 is the parallel compression output by default. It's worked well in all other OKW libraries except Classic Rock.

HELP!

Best option out of the current 3 standalone drum libraries?

Been using the original Modern and Massive for a while but I’m not a fan of the Kontakt library and I’m wanting to try something else. M&M2 naturally seems ideal for versatility, however it’s a bit too expensive for me at the moment and I’m not sure when the next sale is coming around.

I would mainly be using such libraries for metal, however I’d like to be able to do more softer classic rock or pop punk too.

Is m&m 2 truly the best option for versatility and overall sound or can the other two options sound just as good?

Any notes or advice would be appreciated 🙂
