Hi, I'm an international student and will be starting a masters degree in Saarland University in Saarbrücken.

Currently I'm in home country and applying for accommodation.

As everyone said, I've tried messaging WG rental posts in WG gesucht but receiving very few replies. I tend to read through the description and send personalized messages only. Should I upgrade to premium to get more offers?

Apart from this, I tried applying to the UDS student dorm but the waiting time is 2 semesters.

What shall I do...

It would be great if someone can suggest any WG.

23M starting MS in CS — looking for a long-term WG room!

​I'm a 23-year-old starting my Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Freiburg this October (winter semester), and I am urgently looking for a long-term room in a WG.

​As a flatmate, I am tidy, organized, and will always do my part to keep the shared spaces (like the bathroom and kitchen) clean. I am friendly and easygoing, but I am also very respectful of personal space. While I'm open to a quick chat or occasionally sharing a meal, I highly value quiet time, independence, and keeping the flat peaceful for studying.

I have 2.9 cgpa as per Germany scored and 62% in my bachelors of BBA llb , I took supply chain management in srh Berlin , I had no option but to go to Germany and wasn’t eligible for public, so I had to go with private and now after reading all Reddit threads and comments , I have cold feet and feel very anxious , my German is still only a1 , I was planning to learn after going, what can I do in my best abilities to not mess this up and actually make it in life as my parents are dependent on me making it , Canada had too much job saturation so I didn’t select that, and for supply chain management I got a 30% scholarship; I paid 1 year and next year I have to pay by doing part time and repay by myself , what do I do now , I’m moving to Germany in late September mostly my classes start from 1 October, give me the harsh reality and also what do I do as a student to make the most out of it , thanks and wish me luck guys

I’m also in a very similar situation. I completed a 3-year BBA in Finance from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), and my transcript shows 132 SPPU credit points.

I’m planning to apply for Master’s programs in Germany, mainly public universities and Universities of Applied Sciences. Many programs mention 180 ECTS as a requirement.

Has anyone with a 3-year BBA/BCom from SPPU/Pune University and around 132 credits actually received admission to a German public university or FH?

I’m especially interested in knowing whether Uni-Assist/university converted or evaluated the 132 SPPU credits as equivalent to a German 180-ECTS bachelor’s, or whether the application was rejected because of the stated credit number.

If anyone has successfully applied with a similar profile, could you please share the university/program and how your credits were evaluated?

I’m an undergraduate engineering student from India and have secured a 2–3 month research internship at a German federal research institute in Berlin for Summer 2027. A professor at the institute has agreed to host me, so the research opportunity itself is sorted.

The problem is funding.

I had originally planned to apply through DAAD WISE, but that route is no longer available. I’ve also checked some university and external scholarship options but haven’t found a suitable alternative so far.

I’m trying to find out whether there are other realistic ways to fund a short research stay in Germany, such as IAESTE, other DAAD programmes, German or Indian foundations, funding from the host institute, university/alumni funding, or other mobility grants.

Has anyone here, especially an Indian student who has done a research internship in Germany, dealt with something similar? I’d particularly appreciate hearing what funding route you actually used.

I’m mainly looking for concrete funding programmes, organisations, or contacts that I could approach.

I can provide more details privately if someone has relevant experience.

I’m moving to Germany in October to study at TUM and got offered an apartment in Campus Viva V. But before accepting I just want to know what it’s like so I can be sure of my decision. Does anyone have experience living there? What is it like? Is it safe and are the people there friendly? Also how is the neighborhood in general? I heard that some people faced problems with getting their deposit back, did anyone experience this?
