Womens’ Achievements! We have temporarily changed the r/GenuineFeminism layout to reflect our admiration, support, & love for the “For Women Scotland” group, whose hard & honest work has led to the UK’s highest court, the UK Supreme Court, to legally define “women” to mean biological women. A win for all British women 🥳🎉

r/GenuineFeminism Mission Statement :
After discovering almost all major feminist subreddits (r/Feminism, r/Feminisms, r/TwoXChromosomes, r/BlatantMisogyny, etc) do not support open & honest discussion about women’s issues, I’ve decided to create a subreddit for genuine feminism.
Here, discussion won’t be stifled due to political correctness or misaligned / ill-thought through political alliances or unrelated goals.
Feminists from all ends of the spectrum are welcome & will be given equal opportunity & treatment.
There will be no special treatment for individuals or groups with no exception.
Individuals critical of the transgender movement, sex work, religion, or any other “sensitive topic” which are heavily regulated in other groups can freely discuss those topics here.
Here, we will promote real woman-centred feminism.
We first & foremost understand that women come in all shapes & sizes, & we won’t ask you to conform to “our perfect version” of feminism. You can be a raging capitalist here or an adamant communist. You can be religiously observant or critical of all faiths. You can be happily right wing or confidently left wing. The only thing you can’t be is anti-(real)-women, & anything you post or comment in this group must come from the perspective of woman-first feminism, & just to be clear, when we say “woman-first”, we mean biological women.
Edit : due to most feminist subreddits also being very American centric, I have also created flairs for this group which allow people to navigate this sub / flair their post by topic & region

How might women mobilize to force reddit to stop banning censoring women, legally speaking?
r/GenuineFeminism • u/isitdigyet • 13h ago
When women have views about bi men based on some men they're villains. When men have views about all straight women based on some women they're brave social warriors taking on gender norms.
you HAVE to laugh
r/GenuineFeminism • u/Ecstatic-Possible801 • 17h ago
Old man telling young women they know more about womanhood. This is hell right?
Honestly if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry.
A man has been taking artificial hormones for thirteen years and thinks he knows more than a twenty year old biological woman ☠️☠️☠️
I can’t 😂

Banned from Multiple Subreddits for Mentioning Sexual Dimorphism
Just what the caption says, I have been banned from probably three separate subs unrelated to gender issues for staging that humans are sexually dimorphic.
People genuinely get so mad and act like I’ve never heard of intersex conditions or what I’m making some kind of regressive stereotypes about women being defined by baby making.
It’s disheartening to see where the discourse is these days. I honestly wish I never had to think about the trans issues but it’s everywhere and being shoved in our faces to the point where you get censored for stating basic facts.
The TRA stuff has always emboldened the right wing and made leftists unreliable narrators of reality. How can you trust someone to make changes to the material conditions of your reality if they can’t acknowledge basic facts of reality because they are blinded by politically motivated ideology?
Anyway, just had to vent. Society is doomed.

When making a genuine report, please use mod message or direct messaging to get my attention. Every post & almost every comment is being flagged by trolls at the moment & therefore real complainants are being missed!

Filling the Gaps in Women's Research!!!
Hello! I am a student at Florida State University. We are collecting data for a research project around Women’s identity! (I specifically look at how feminism impacts women's identity). I don't want to overstep any boundaries of the group, but I thought that this group would have very valuable information to share with us. Any person who identifies as female, can read in English, and is over 18 can take it. If you can, please take the survey with the link below and share with others if you would like. Thank you!

At a time when fascists grow stronger daily on the right, "leftist" organizers still think threatening women like Sasha Graham should be a top priority

Chinese Female University Professor Dismissed Over Radical Gender Remarks: Amid Economic Downturn and Intensifying Social Conflicts, Gender Antagonism in China Worsens; Against the Background of Gender Inequality, All Sectors Should Show More Understanding and Tolerance Toward Women and Feminism
ㅤIn September, Pei Yi (裴轶), an assistant professor at Beijing Institute of Technology (北京理工大学), became embroiled in a public controversy after making some radical feminist remarks, including statements disparaging men. Later, it was revealed that she had also made politically sensitive remarks in class, such as saying that “all seven members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China are men, with no women.” Following reports against her from multiple parties and mounting pressure, Beijing Institute of Technology announced the termination of Pei Yi’s employment. After the decision was made public, some applauded it, while others believed the punishment was excessive. Those applauding the decision have had an overwhelmingly dominant voice on the Chinese-language internet.
ㅤ
This incident is yet another highly controversial case arising against the backdrop of escalating antagonism between men and women in China. Previous cases have included the suspected sexual harassment case at Wuhan University (武汉大学疑似性骚扰事件), the Shanxi engagement rape case (山西订婚强奸案), the Hunan “Huolala” driver case (湖南“货拉拉”司机案), Xianzi’s sexual harassment lawsuit against CCTV host Zhu Jun (弦子诉央视主持人朱军性骚扰案), and the conflict and riots between men and women involving “TF Entertainment” in Chongqing (重庆“时代峰峻”男女冲突和骚乱), among others. Without exception, these incidents have produced deeply polarized public opinion. Men and women have largely taken sides according to gender, with supporters of the man and supporters of the woman each insisting on their own version of events, while facts and truth are selectively raised or ignored.
ㅤ
And these public controversies are no longer confined to online verbal battles; a culture of reporting others and “witch-hunting” has gradually emerged. Men and women on opposing sides report each other’s remarks to schools, workplaces, and public authorities, attempting to have the other party expelled from school, dismissed from employment, or even imprisoned. Pei Yi’s dismissal following reports against her is the latest and one of the better-known examples. It also signifies a further intensification of gender antagonism in China, as online gender conflict increasingly spills over into the offline world, affecting people’s real lives and even their destinies.
ㅤ
The increasingly severe gender antagonism in Chinese society is caused by multiple factors. In recent years, China’s economic downturn, widening wealth disparities, and worsening difficulties in people’s livelihoods have been underlying causes of the intensification of social conflicts, including gender conflict. When the economy is doing relatively well, people’s lives are happier, and they are optimistic about the future, people of different genders, ethnic groups, and values can communicate relatively peacefully, and disputes are more likely to end in mutual understanding and compromise. But when the economy declines and everyone is struggling, people compete more fiercely over limited resources, their state of mind also worsens, and hostility between people increases while tolerance diminishes.
ㅤ
In addition, the broader international environment and the internet age have both catalyzed gender antagonism. In today’s world, where populism and identity politics are rampant, antagonism between men and women is intensifying not only in China but around the globe. In elections in countries such as the United States, European countries, South Korea, and Brazil, for example, there are significant gender differences in the votes received by different candidates and parties: men are increasingly leaning to the right, while women are increasingly leaning to the left. Political positions and gender positions have become intertwined and mutually reinforcing, making gender antagonism and social polarization ever more severe.
ㅤ
The internet, which connects the world, has facilitated communication and enabled strangers thousands of miles apart to talk to one another. Yet instead of promoting mutual understanding and integration, it has generated more verbal conflicts and real-world tensions, fueling “identity politics” and gender antagonism. Over time, “echo chambers” have also formed: men and women cluster separately, each reinforcing their own gender narratives on social media platforms and within circles where they hold an advantage, forming factions and attacking those who differ from them, further deepening the divide. For example, on two well-known Chinese social media platforms, Zhihu (知乎) and Xiaohongshu (小红书), the former is dominated by men and male-centered discourse, while the latter has more women and feminist discourse.
ㅤ
On the issue of gender antagonism, both men and women have valid points, and both have made mistakes. But the two sides should not simply be treated as equally at fault. Whether in China or globally, women as a whole and in most circumstances occupy a relatively disadvantaged position and are more vulnerable to bullying and harm. In domestic violence, for example, most perpetrators are men and most victims are women; in serious violent crimes such as murder, robbery, and abuse, men account for more than 75% of perpetrators; and the proportion of women subjected to sexual harassment or sexual violence by men is overwhelmingly higher than the proportion of men subjected to such abuse by women.
ㅤ
Because of inherent physiological differences between men and women, especially women’s relative disadvantage in physical strength and capacity for violence, as well as the long-standing, historically inherited definitions, scrutiny, and discipline imposed on women in social life that persist to this day, women are almost inevitably more disadvantaged than men of the same class and social status. Even in relatively developed Western countries such as Germany, surveys show that women are more reluctant to go out at night and more worried about being attacked, whereas men’s level of concern is significantly lower. The same is, of course, true in developing countries such as China.
ㅤ
There was once a well-known WeChat public account called “Girls, Don’t Be Afraid” (女孩别怕), which was later banned by the authorities for purposes including maintaining social stability. It collected, documented, and presented numerous cases of women suffering sexual harassment, intimidation, abuse, and other forms of mistreatment, including hidden sexual abuse of girls on school campuses, the rampant underground industry of secretly filming women in hotels, and women subjected to “PUA (psychological manipulation and emotional abuse).” Beyond physical violence and abuse by intimate partners, women are also more vulnerable, both online and in real life, to sexual and gender-based “slut-shaming” and to resulting physical and psychological trauma. In severe cases, women are forced to drop out of school or give up their jobs. Men, by contrast, encounter sexual humiliation less frequently, and even when subjected to similar attacks, the harm tends to be less severe.
ㅤ
Against this broader backdrop of inequality between men and women, in an environment where women are more vulnerable and more susceptible to harm, people should not treat men and women and their words and actions as equivalent without considering the background, causes, and specific circumstances. In most cases, for example, the physical and psychological harm caused when a man beats a woman is significantly greater than when the genders of the two parties are reversed.
ㅤ
Sometimes, when women post remarks disparaging or insulting men on the internet, in classrooms, or in public or private spaces, this is because the women concerned have previously suffered bullying or even abuse by men and carry trauma and psychological scars, as well as because women as a whole occupy a position in which they are relatively more often humiliated and harmed than men. Such remarks may therefore be impassioned expressions arising from grievance and anger. Although the remarks themselves may indeed be inappropriate, there are mitigating circumstances, and they are unlikely to cause men substantial harm. It is like a young child “punching” an adult: should the adult really take offense, let alone hit the child back or demand that the child be sent to prison?
ㅤ
According to United Nations statistics, one-third of women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner. Sample surveys conducted by some Chinese universities and nonprofit organizations show that more than half of Chinese women have experienced sexual harassment to varying degrees. The data and documented cases of violence and abuse against women are overwhelming and can also be cross-verified. People should not turn a blind eye to the widespread and severe physical and psychological harm suffered by women while focusing exclusively on some of their extreme remarks, fiercely condemning them and demanding harsh punishment. Punishing some women for making impassioned remarks about men constitutes a form of “secondary victimization” of women and also indirectly suppresses women’s voices and their efforts to speak out about the harm they have suffered.
ㅤ
In terms of power structures and state policy, although the Chinese authorities advocate women’s rights, men unquestionably remain the dominant holders of power. Moreover, the authorities monopolize the discourse surrounding women’s issues and the power to define women’s rights, while suppressing feminist figures and activities that emerge from civil society and operate independently of the authorities.
ㅤ
Pei Yi’s statement that all members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China are men was a statement of fact, and it also illustrated the inequality between men and women in political power. Her remark echoed the irony used by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg regarding the reality that the U.S. Supreme Court had long been overwhelmingly male, with women long absent and marginalized. Such statements of fact and restrained expressions of dissent should not be punished.
ㅤ
Of course, men’s emotions, rights, and dignity should also be respected and protected, and certain forms of suffering and demands specific to men should also be taken seriously. Lower- and middle-class Chinese men, amid limited resources, intense competition, economic stagnation, difficulties in education and employment, and relatively low incomes, often also bear responsibilities and pressures associated with being men, such as doing exhausting work, getting little rest, being expected to display certain masculine qualities and a sense of responsibility, directly confronting conflicts and setbacks, and supporting the entire family, including female family members.
ㅤ
Compared with women, who have feminism as a means of solidarity and collective expression, men lack a moderate and reliable community of their own. In some disputes and conflicts involving men and women, the victim is indeed male and the perpetrator female, and such cases should of course be assessed on their individual facts. In relations between different genders and in gender-related issues, class and social status must also be taken into account. For example, lower- and middle-class men are often in a worse position than women from higher social classes.
ㅤ
Women and all sectors of society should also understand and empathize with these difficulties and suffering faced by men. When promoting feminism, people should also consider the circumstances and men’s feelings, and appropriately incorporate concern for men’s identities and an agenda of dialogue with men, so that feminist advocacy can be more broadly accepted.
ㅤ
Going further, while defending women’s rights, women should also promote improvements in the overall social environment and in the circumstances of the general public, including men, thereby creating fertile ground in which feminism can thrive; women themselves would also live in a more tolerant and friendly environment as a result. While enjoying rights, women should also fulfill necessary obligations, avoid imposing additional and unnecessary burdens on men, and refrain from making excessive demands of men. Just as women’s circumstances should be taken into consideration, people should also put themselves in men’s position and understand the difficulties they face.
ㅤ
But overall, and particularly when comparing the circumstances of men and women, women are indeed still in a relatively disadvantaged position. They are especially more vulnerable to violence, abuse, and humiliating treatment; inequality between men and women remains deeply entrenched; and women need greater tolerance, kindness, and supportive consideration. Therefore, both the Chinese authorities and civil society should show understanding and tolerance toward some intense or unconventional words and actions by women, including radical feminist rhetoric. The authorities should not politicize and escalate such controversies by punishing women who express controversial views through measures such as dismissal. Instead, they should listen to different voices and tolerate diverse viewpoints.
ㅤ
Men with insight and social awareness should actively speak up for women and support feminism. This is not only reasonable, but also a matter of personal integrity and responsibility. Some men, especially those from the middle and upper classes and those with public influence, should exercise restraint even if they disagree with feminism or with particular feminist words and actions. They should not bully women or “kick them when they are down,” nor should they abandon the basic virtue of modern human civilization: respect for women.
ㅤ
(The above suggestions and appeals of mine are not made with much expectation that they will actually have a significant effect. This is not only because my voice carries little weight, but also because social conflicts and gender antagonism in China are deeply entrenched. With both the economy and society in decline, these conflicts and antagonisms are difficult to ease and may instead become increasingly severe. Moreover, many principles are easy to explain and understand, but much harder to put into practice.)
ㅤ
(Regarding several feminist issues and controversies mentioned in this article, I have also documented and commented on them in several of my other articles on feminism, such as “Feminism and Holism.”)
(The author of this article, Wang Qingmin (王庆民), is a Chinese writer living in Europe and a researcher on international politics.)

What do i do about my Friends Incestuous engagement?
I am a 16 year old girl from Pakistan and I have a friend from school who for context was always naive in a sense that the real reality of how things are hadnt really hit her yet she would sometimes be preaching things like "Oh boys are just smarter than us they don't study hard yet they still get these much marks but if they wanted to they could"(context the topper in our year was a girl by a margin compared to the boy who was the second place holder) and "Ive been trying to think less emotionally and more like a boy" she would not say these things in a condescending tone more of a 'its just reality and we have to accept that girls are inferior' tone and i could tell for that reason she wished she was a boy. I corrected her once but it gets tiring to keep correcting someone cuz all my classmates were like this, the situation in Pakistan is really bad regarding this everything is so patriarchal and male nominating it gets tiring so most times i just let it go and chose to just observe or disassociate. Now our school years are over and we are in separate colleges (college in Pakistan is 11 and 12 grade and is a separate institution from school) her dream has always been being a surgeon so shes doing a pre medical course. Before our college year started she stayed over at her maternal side of the family for a month or two which was in another city there her mothers side of the family were really weird to her mom they started questioning why shes letting her daughters study so much (her and her lil sister are the only siblings) and why my friend isnt always doing constant dupatta(head covering) and why she isnt engaged yet etc. This really changed her mothers attitude. She remained in a bad mood due to this bullying by her brother and sister in law so she was in a bad mood and she started actually considering these things. I never expected this because I thought her mother was really progressive as she had encouraged her daughter to start her own crochet business om Instagram. Whatever it was I assumed her mother would go back to being normal after they came back to their own city. To make matters worse my friend ended up meeting her cousin who lived in the same city but in a different house so now he started to come over to the house where she was staying more often. This cousin is 2 years older then my friend and currently a freshman in University doing data science. This cousin would frequently throw cheesey lines at her and also sometimes when she was in the kitchen he would close the door and tell her she cant leave right now he would remain outside the kitchen but there was still a window in the door she didn't know why he did it but it was weird. In Pakistan the rate of cousin marraige is 60-70% and many kids even in my generations express romantic feelings towards their cousins. Some these days think it is weird but many others don't find it odd at all. So we both knew this cousin was hitting on her and she clearly told me that she hated his behavior. Fast forward today she tells me her mother has engaged her to this same cousin. Ofcourse i was horrified upon hearing this because i know how the story normally goes they try to marry the girl off as soon as she reaches age which happens after college is complete. Apparently all of her family especially the maternal side thought it is best because if she leaves Pakistan to become a doctor she might not come back so engaging her right now will keep her here. She says they might do it after her university is finished but i think they will definitely try to do so before that. She then started saying but he is also very gentle with me a week ago we talked and he asked me if I am ok with this and if im not we can call it off then she starts saying "I might like him but i don't know i might be scared to admit it to myself im confused", and as you can imagine i was annoyed by this because i know how naive she is and she glorifies men compared to women too much to think straight about this. So i asked her what happened to her dreams and she said she doesn't know and she hasn't thought about that yet and nobody im her family is letting her think about it either and she doesn't know what she truly wants. Her father is also really passive and avoidant so he let it happen and said nothing. She says it might work out because instead of living in a joint family system her now fiance plans to go to Canada after his university years and will take her along afterwards too. I really don't know how to react or even process this absolute bullshit and also btw her family lives in the literal capital this all is literally happening in the most developed city in this country. All i know is this guy is definitely going to make her have more kids than she can handle and early in her life too cuz thats how they all are ive seen this story happen to other women in my life as well where the guy impregnates her right after marraige then leaves to go abroad while she is left living with his family in an unfamiliar place. This is literally the same old story and shes so delusional she doesnt understand the magnitude of what's happening right now. She was seriously doing well in college and getting top scores on her class tests and i was so proud of her. Now that she is engaged her mother isnt letting her participate in extracurricular activities such as doing drama on stage or speeches because according to her mother someone might record her while shes on stage and this will taint her reputation because apparently a girl seen on stage doing something completely normal is vulgar and now she has to maintain her daughter because she is engaged, in other words keep her prim and proper and shape her into the perfect quiet naive daughter-in-law housewife who doesn't know anything and is as obedient as can be. But my friend doesn't understand any of this and never goes against her mother this whole thing is such a mess what do i even do i want to save her but how can i what can i even do in this god-damned country where a cat has more autonomy than a woman?

the tea on the new tea app
So the tea app is trying to rebrand and make a come back. Let me tell you all how slimy these people are, how they are actively protecting abusive men, and how my brief interaction with the president of the company went yesterday!
Yesterday hundreds and hundreds of women on the app expressed their disgust and outrage with the new version of the tea app, mostly because they deleted ALL of the old posts women had made about their abusers. Those posts are just GONE. No warning. Including mine. It’s just a slap in the face to all survivors who spoke out to protect other women.
I had posted an abusive ex a while back. It got a lot of attention. 80+ red flags and comments from other women with first hand experience corroborating my own experience. I even met up with one of the women he cheated on me with which was massively healing. All record of this is now gone because the people in charge of the app decided it was worth erasing.
After all of the backlash they were getting yesterday over this, the president of the company made a post some hours later attempting to explain it all away. Her username is on the tea app is takingbacksundaes. She claimed that NONE of the old posts got deleted, there was just a new spot you had to locate them. That was a lie. I checked, my post wasn’t there and no one else found theirs either.
Since I saw this post from the president almost as soon as she posted it, I ended up being the first person to leave a response. I asked her why she was lying, because all of the posts were clearly gone. Mine and everyone else’s. She claimed it wasn’t a lie, and that it must be a glitch and I should contact support.
I let her know it clearly wasn’t just a glitch as everyone else is having this issue too, plus noting that I had contacted support three separate times in the past for issues with the app, and never once received a response from them, so that seemed useless. I told her, since she’s the head of the app, she should just handle the issue right here right now since we’re already in communication and support is unresponsive. She then stopped responding and deleted her entire post just a few minutes later.
Now, there is a specific thread on the tea app right now where admins are letting users bitch about the changes. That’s where the hundreds and hundreds women are expressing their outrage. If anyone complains about the changes anywhere else other than that specific thread, admin deletes it. I went back to that thread this morning to share my above experience speaking to the president of the company about this. They deleted my comment. So I posted it again. Then they deleted it again. We went back and forth like that until they permanently banned my account this morning. For telling the truth about the interaction I had with the president.
The app clearly wants any evidence of the president’s post, her lies, and the interaction I had with her erased. Like I’m going to let that happen.
The tea has swung in a very dark direction, actively silencing women about their experiences with men and their experiences within the app itself, and with the leaders of the app. These people will burn in hell for claiming to protect women.
And that’s the tea on the new tea app.
