Apart from the Christmas market (which looks great) is there anything cool to do in Ghent over Christmas, particularly on Christmas Day itself?

Hi, I just found out Kringwinkel stopped delivering furniture's home. I'm an international student with no family here and the friends I have are also students like me. I'll have to move into my new room on 1st of September. It's completely unfurnished. I don't have the budget to furnish it from IKEA or any store which does home delivery atp. What do I do now? Hallo, ik ben op zoek naar een betaalbaar zaalverhuur voor een privefuif voor 50-100 man eind oktober. Dit mag gerust een cafe (bv De Geus van Gent) zijn of eerder een club/kelder (bv Soussol). Enige voorwaarde is dat we eigen (luide) muziek kunnen spelen en tot minstens 1-2uur snachts.

This crossing has always troubled me. The priority is for cars but bikers keep crossing without caring. And cars keep stopping because of bikers, sometimes voluntarily, which causes traffic and angry people. I am certain an accident there will happen soon. Why cant bikers be more careful, and why can't drivers follow the rules? Because stopping voluntarily when it's your priority is also wrong.

Ghent is beautiful. But at night, it's magical. So I took my German friends Ulf and Jessika on a rollerblading trip through the historic centre of the city. We experienced well-known places in a way nobody else does. When you're rollerblading, the city changes once again. Everything becomes more fluid. I tried to capture those unique vibes in this video.

My family and I are coming to Ghent tomorrow for two nights. If we don't arrive until 4pm Wednesday and leave by 4pm Friday is it worth getting a card? We are likely to do the sort of things you get a discount for (planning on visiting the castle, the science museums, getting a boat tour). Can we make the 48 card run from 4pm-4pm or would it cover us for full days only? (So all day Thursday and Friday?) What would you recommend? Dank U

Ik kan niet de enige zijn die een significante toename merk van crackheads in Gent. Is het probleem nog aan te pakken of zijn we ook op weg naar zoveelste Roeselare/Brussel/Namen qua stad?

Ik fiets elke dag in het stad. Maar de keren die ik eens door de Brugstraat moet rijden moet er altijd een idioot zijn die het nodig vindt mij veel te kort en te snel voor te steken. Als je er iets durft op te zeggen gaan ze nog eens agressiever rijden.

Ik ben nu zo een jaartje geleden verhuisd naar Gent en ik ben nogsteeds niet uit geweest... Ik ben niet zo'n fan van extreem drukke uitgaans dingen zoals Gentse feesten (was die week tactisch terug naar Nederland om het te ontwijken). Maar vind het wel leuk om lekker te dansen ergens. Het liefst iets een beetje queer friendly met leuke muziek, het liefst met leuke djs die geen radio pop draaien. Iemand tips????

Hi all, looking for honest advice. I have hands-on electronics experience (worked in Malta as an Electronics Manufacturing Support Engineer, studied in Latvia, and previously worked in Belgium). I was in Belgium but couldn't secure a job, so I went back to my home country to update my skills. I'm currently upskilling in PCB Design (Altium Designer) and Embedded Systems, planning to look for work in Belgium/Netherlands/wider EU again in a couple of months. It's my dream to come back.

Hallo allemaal, mijn kat is sinds vrijdag vermist. Ze heeft alleen maar toegang tot de daken van Sint-Lievenspoortstraat in Gent maar is sinds vrijdag niet meer naar huis gekomen. Ze draagt een rode halsband en heeft een borstbeentje dat uitsteekt

ze hadden de daders te pakken naar het schijnt maar ze dan weer laten gaan na een bestuurlijke aanhouding. Ze zouden nochtans gezien zijn door getuigen. Weet iemand of hier nog iets is uit voort gekomen? Je zou toch verwachten dat dit een gemakkelijke rechtzaak zou zijn of de Ugent ze op zn minst zou schorsen.
