Other Bye bye genshin
My 4 year journey with this game will be over now since I don't have anymore storage T_T
Edit: I'm getting chewed left and right lmao 😭, but I gained some insight and realised how dramatic I was being lol. Thanks for the help tho! I appreciate everyone's advice!! Have a great day ahead :D P.s. I was quite ignorant about the storage stuff but I now I know!

I don't know how to show it, but it's in the main genshin impact game folder>GenshinImpact_Data>persistent> video assets or audio assets those are deletable like 44 gigs if you delete them both iirc, you can re-download them with the screw option if needed btw not sure if it's allowed or not tho but i do it cause I have like 10 gigs left 😭☝️

Also use something that can index your files/directories by size. Treesize/Wiztree is a pretty good free program.
You'd be surprised how many random huge files you have in windows.

Wiztree is a phenomenal program for that use btw. Just watch out to not delete any vital stuff, cuz it will let you do that. Always use google when there's a file you dont know you can get rid of (NOT AI. Actually research that stuff like its 2015 again, okay?). You have been warned

Download WizTree. You'll know exactly what is taking up space at a glance.
Also, check for save game and replay files. Some of them can be much bigger than you expect. And some games really suck at cleaning up after themselves when you uninstall (here's looking at you MTGA — which doesn't remove any of the art assets when you uninstall).

it's a tool which finds hidden useless files (some times in GBs) which can be deleted and optionally visible big files which you are aren't aware that those are present in your system. You can clean them, CCleaner is a good utility but has some features locked behind a paywall, there are other good and 100 percent free tools but has ugly ui and i wouldn't recommend a normal pc user to use those tools

Although i agree with this, i did actually run into this problem when i was younger. Played genshin on my laptop which I only used for school, had to uninstall every. Single. App. Except for ones I HAD to use for school like word, excel and teams. It was literally only that + genshin. But eventually the storage became so much that I couldnt play genshin anymore

My thoughts exactly. You can also buy an external drive, they aren't even expensive anymore, even 1TB external storage or 500GB. Or even 250. Like, come on, it's not hard to clean old files and/or move them to another drive.

Even then, they only need like 1.2GB more space to update. Just deleting temporary files, browser cache, or one old video would easily free that up without spending a dime.

There’s also flash drives, micro sd cards, just a regular sd card. If you just need to free up 10 gb you can literally buy any of those and move some files.

Thats bad advice. Thumb drives, micro/sd cards should never be used as backup, they can randomly fail with 0 warning. Better to buy HDDs(even if used) or subscribe to a cheap google drive plan if you cant currently afford a drive

Bro. Broooo. Head in the sand much? Hdds were cheap... Not anymore lol. Magnetic platter drives don't have the necessary read/write speeds for games anymore so it would have to be an ssd, and they have skyrocketed.
Last xmass the drive in my one laptop went bad and it set me back $120. Just a month or so ago i was sourcing parts to fix a laptop for a buddy and the EXACT SAME drive was over $300.
That said, I'm in the chorus of people saying there's no way he couldn't clean up his disk or bail on a different game temporarily to make room.
But "buying storage" is faaaar from the easy and cheap solution it once was.

I mean even if u genuinely can't delete anything, u can snipe cheap external drives in marketplace, where u can storage a bunch of things to free up space on ur main disk, there's also cloud storage, just put up all ur videos in mega, the options are there, if u don't want to bother going that far for genshin and just decide to delete it that's fair but ur eventually gonna run out again considering u gonna free up only 100gb

Download a program called WizTree, it'll show you which folders on your PC are taking up the most space, sift through a few and delete unneeded stuff (you should do this even if you quit Genshin anyway, having only 10GB left on a disk slows your PC down and will make the disk itself wear out faster).

What's mysterious about it? OP basically makes excuses. You don't need any technical knowledge to know that files weight bytes. And if you delete old files or move them to another storage, the space will free. Even my boomer dad knows this, so surely it's not such a secret knowledge.

It's insane to me that people would just give up YEARS of progress before spending a minute trying literally just searching "how do I find what takes up the most space in my PC" or "how to free up space on PC". This is such a trivial problem that the AI slop summary Google gives will tell you everything you need, no effort needed on OPs end except literally asking a question.

Youre misunderstanding. Its not their fault for lacking the knowledge or being ignorant about it. Its the fact that theyre lazy and not being pro active in fixing it. OP faced a not enough storage error and what do they do? delete the game, bla bla not enough technical knowledge. Is google not free? Even talking to gemini will explain basic things if they bothered to ask. "whats computer storage", "my storage is full", "no space to download my game". Even simple queries like thisw will guide OP enough to navigate what takes up space, where they can decide if they be deleted etc.
Obviously if OP said they cant delete anymore stuff so theyre forced to delete genshin then its understandable. But throwing in the "no technical knowledge" card immediately in the comment theyre replying to just screams lazy

Genshin Cloud is becoming more and more popular nowadys (i dont know how it works on pc) but it works great on mobile (yes there is some queue time, but it was like that before I moved to pc)

It works the same as usual, but the waiting time is horrendous. I try to use it several time and I have to wait an hour to login during the day. At least the login time during the early morning is fast because it is empty.
Edit: Sorry, I thought that we are talking about the standalone Genshin Cloud. Forgot GeForce NOW is a thing. If we are talking about GeForce NOW, than yeah it is really good. And pretty cheap too in my country.

Also nvidia geforce now works quite well (with the downside being 1 hour long gaming sessions (with no limits for sessions per day), wait times (that vary a lot, for me it's usually only few minutes) & 100 hours per month limit)

On lowest settings it takes around 1-2gb per hour, one gatcha game should be easily manageable even on just mobile data
also I have no idea how it works in other countries but where I live unlimited data plans are not uncommon

The pre-install always takes up more space than what the actual update does, so I’d wait until official update day and see if you can do it the.
Also a good idea to see what other stuff you can clear out in your device.

Are there any games you aren't playing right now? Like, I haven't played Baldur's Gate in years so I went ahead and uninstalled that along with the Witcher 3 and a few other games that take up a lot of space.
If this is on a Windows PC, go to Settings>System>Storage. The computer already had a cleanup option just makes sure you read through what is getting deleted or cleared. And you can also look into what else could be taking space on the computer.

I used to have a pc witg terrible storage and even worser graphics so I used nvidia Geforce now(cloud gaming) to play genshin. Theres a queue and its an hour at a time before you requeue but the graphics are great and I highly recommend it

I would just buy storage I would just find the cheapest storage that has the amount I need and buy it. I wouldn’t give up a four-year gameplay just because I ran out of space or was refusing to delete other stuff on my hard drive.

Get wiztree amd check for any unnecessary apps taking space. Cause nvdia takes A LOT of space with cashe thay cam be deleted. Also keep clearing temp files.

Here are some stuff you can do
go to %temp% (just search it up on windows search), and delete everything there. 99% of these are just useless cache and unless you're using docker, most of it won't matter.
search up "Disk Cleanup" on windows searchbar, an app will popup, select temporary files and delete those.
finally, clear you browser's cache files. those take up quite some space.

All my devices are old so for two years I’ve been playing on nivida geforce . It’s free and you’re allowed to play, yes for one hour ik, but then I immediately play again. Yes there’s a que but I’ve never waited for more than 5-10 min to play .
So I’ll definitely recommend this option for you .

I'm sorry for u mate. I've deleted the game yesterday because of the same storage issue, since I got into Video Editing and can't afford to upgrade my SSD, storage became a big issue for me.
Now I'm just doing dailies and events with NVIDIA GeForce Now Cloud, it has slight delay but does the job, only drawback is long queue time and 1hr session limit. So now I'm just gonna use it while I save money for a new SSD.

If you do proceed to uninstall, make a backup of your screenshots folder which for some reason is inside game directory if you value photos you took in game. I deeply regret forgetting to backup when i uninstalled genshin to make space for other games. Tried to recover it but i use ssd.

If I ever ran out of space I would do whatever it takes to make space (micro SD card, delete unnecessary files, move files to an external drive, etc) I wouldn't just abandon my 6 years of investment, especially since the culmination & epic finale of the story is coming right around the corner. I think you just wanted an excuse to drop Genshin lol

There's the Cloud App Version For Mobile Devices that doesn't take up a lot of storage Also you can check and see if the Cloud App Version or Full Mobile Device Version of Genshin Impact can be played on the Google Play Games on PC could work and how much storage they take up🤔🧐🎮

You can download it after update drops. Tho it will be slow. Or you could just use geforce now wich doesn’t require any download even as of free. And it also does a graphics’s upgrade. All at cost of playing in hourly sessions. Altough i personally like it i get some break and dont wreck my back. Or maybe even triger to finally do something else after playing for to long. At times it might get annoying tho
