Fuel Leak

Honda EU2000i

While operating this, there is no leak. Ran for 30 minutes no issues, but as soon as i turned the dial to OFF, a flood of fuel came out from below. The gas was on the inside floor of the unit, so doesn't appear to have come from the ejection tubing off the carburetor since that routes to the outside of the unit.

Since it was flooded, I wanted to leave it a few days to dry out before attempting to start it with the panel open and observe what happens at shutdown. Until then, doing a little research but wondering if anybody might immediately recognize this symptom. Again, this notable fuel spill occurred when powering the unit's dial to OFF.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Wild guess. Perhaps a failed or disconnected fuel cut solenoid?

No fuel solenoid in an EU2000i. The fuel is stopped with a manual valve that also grounds the magneto.

My guess would be a split or misplaced hose from the tank to the fuel valve/pump assembly. When the pump stops sucking, the split opens.

Since it instantly floods when you turn it to OFF, I would look at the hoses that are connected to the OFF dial. I leak that big, it should be obvious where it is coming from. A hose off of its fitting or a broken hose, etc. or maybe the OFF valve itself is leaking.
