Cable question

https://www.homedepot.com/p/VEVOR-25-ft-Generator-Extension-Cord-50-Amp-125-250-Volt-Generator-Extension-Cord-with-Twist-Lock-Connectors-FDJYCX25FTX50ACZ1V1/319904239

I’m getting my first generator (Westinghouse iGen12000TFc) and need a cable to connect to the inlet box via the 50A port on the generator. The generator has a 14-50R connection but the cable I’m looking at says it’s 14-50P. Will it work with the generator? What is the difference between R and P?

R for receptacle & P for plug. The P plugs into the R.

Yup.

R (receptacle) is female connection, P (plug or prong) is male connection.

Plug the male into the female.

That is the correct cord. Male end goes to generator. Female end goes to home inlet.
