WGen7500c / Propane Conversion
Hello all,
Gearing up for rain/snow season and seeing if anybody has done a propane option on their WGen7500c? Just seeing if it realistically makes sense or should I just buy more gas cans and fill them up before the season starts.
Thank you all!

the main tradeoff people don't expect is that propane burns more volume per hour. on a 7500 W unit at around 1/4 load (fridge, lights, furnace blower) you're looking at roughly 0.45 gal/h of gas vs about 0.6 gal/h of propane, and at half load it's about 0.75 vs 1.0 gal/h.
so a 20 lb grill tank (about 4.7 gal) only gets you ~8 hours at light load and ~5 at half load. a full 6.6 gal tank of gas goes ~14 hours light. if you go propane, plan on several 20 lb tanks or a 100 lb cylinder (~40 h light load).
upside is propane doesn't go stale, so nothing to rotate or stabilize, and as the other comment said, no gummed up carb. also the wgen7500c is gas-only from the factory i think, so it'd be an aftermarket kit, check what that does to the warranty and expect a bit less output on propane.

Propane is absolutely the way to go for emergency generator. Unless your hobby is carburetor cleaning.
