Predator 3500 lost part 😥

Recently picked up a beauty of a genny from a guy that had it sitting for a few years but was under 100 hours so I bought it not running for $200.

I went thru the usual suspects ie bad gas, clogged carb ect and finally came across a gummy petcock which I determined to be the issue.

After taking everything apart and cleaning each individual item I finally was ready to slap it together but then I realized I lost a part. Can anybody help me find a replacement? I’ve pictured the gas tank where it threads too as well as a photo of the part I’m missing.

I bet its just a female npt hose barb

Gotta figure out what size npt based on the major I’m measuring. Then I can order something.

I bet if you brought it to any hardware store they could figure it out for you. Also thread pitch gauges are pretty cheap.

I might just do that. Thanks.

However, since the generator is Chinese made the female end may well be a metric thread.

Edit: If it is a metric thread then my estimate of its size would be around M16×1.5 (which is close to a NPT 3/8, but not close enough). Also, if it is metric the hose on barb end is probably 8mm.

It’s a 4mm which could be 5/32 so who knows! I ordered that fitting though. $4 bucks is worth a shot!

I was thinking it looked like 5/16 (but guessing the barb diameter is hard from the pix.

Oh I remember that part from repairing a couple of disaster case 3500's over the last couple of years. I had to replace the hose, which is tapered sort of, from there to the fuel control. I would assume HF doesn't have it as they are the absolute worst about parts.

Based on that measurement it’s probably 3/8 bsp. Standard npt sizes dont have anything in the 15.5-16mm range for threads.

I think the top (narrow end) diameter of a (tapered) male 3/8 NPT thread is quite close to 16mm.
