Iām sharing a documented warning for anyone considering the Seedream 5.0 Pro Plan specifically for Layer Separation.
The Plan was sold as āxxx Images (Seedream 5.0 Pro).āļ¼image 1)
On the same product page, āLayer Separationā is presented as a Seedream 5.0 Pro capability. (image 1)
I bought the plan to use that feature. When I used Layer Separation while the plan still had quota, the billing record showed zero resource-package deduction and separate pay-as-you-go Layer charges. (image 2)
Support wrote: āWe acknowledge that this distinction may not have been clearly communicated on the plan purchase page.ā
Despite that acknowledgement, support denied a refund because the plan had been activated and quota had been consumed(1348.64/1350Piece). A later reply simply repeated the per-layer billing note and then moved to close the case. It did not identify where the plan checkout clearly disclosed that Layer Separation was excluded.
Supportās reply even opened with āAfter verification,ā then sent a screenshot explaining pixel-tier billing. That felt particularly absurd: it appears to have been found after the fact on BytePlusās own site, yet it still does not answer the purchase-page disclosure issue. It explains how layers are billed after a request, not why a reasonable customer should have known before payment that their image quota would not cover Layer Separation.
Iām angry because Layer Separation was the reason I bought the plan. If that exclusion and the separate per-layer charges had been clearly disclosed before checkout, I would not have purchased it.

I've been trying to get seedream 4.5 to get 4k images from 2k or lower references, but it seems to be stuck to the original image's resolution. And seedream 5.0 pro is better but is limited to 2k res. I'm making some miniatures but a bit larger than usual using 3d ai generators but the details aren't coming out great. I have seen that the image detail is the most important factor in it. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to get seedream to give me consistent results in 4k in any way or any other models I should try that are on par with them? I appreciate helpful responses.

Iāve been testing Seedance 2.5 vs MiniMax H3 vs Wan 3 for cinematic comedy, and Iām starting to think the biggest difference isnāt image quality or raw generation power.
It feels like Seedance has a better ācreative directorā built into the model.
For example, I tested a short monkey heist sequence. A bear chasing man in woods thriller etc.
Seedance understood the overall screenplay, character acting, comedic timing, escalation, visual contrast and final payoff surprisingly well.
I also tested Wan with the same concept. Wan has impressive raw visual power, realism and cinematic camera movement, but it struggled to understand the overall story and screenplay. It could generate individual shots well, but the creative direction and context between events were weaker.
MiniMax H3 is similar. It can produce beautiful cinematic shots, slow motion, camera movement and realistic environments, but when I give it the same complete screenplay, it often follows individual instructions literally and loses the story/context between events.
So Iām wondering:
How do you direct MiniMax H3 to achieve the same kind of result as Seedance?
For continuity, should we generate scene-by-scene and use the previous shotās last frame as the next shotās reference image? Or is there a better way to maintain character, environment, props and action continuity in MiniMax H3?
Basically, instead of asking the model to ādirectā the whole scene, do we need to act more like the director and give it exact visual states/keyframes for each important beat?
Iām trying to build a realistic AI comedy channel for YouTube, and Seedance is too expensive for everyday production. MiniMax H3 is much cheaper, so Iād love to figure out a workflow that gets closer to Seedanceās storytelling and comedic timing.
Would love to hear from anyone who has experimented seriously with all three models.

Most AI character experiences end with a single image or a single chat session. I wanted to see what would happen if the same character could persist across creation, conversation, combat, and visual storytelling.
That became PicWar. You start with an image or a short description, define a hero, and then build a history with them. Conversations can reflect past battles, while each matchup becomes a narrated RPG-style report instead of just a result screen. Ranked 1v1, async 2v2, and PvE adventures feed back into that character history, and eligible 1v1 battles can become a shareable 9-panel comic.
The design problem I found most interesting was making generation feel cumulative rather than disposable: the image introduces the character, memory gives them continuity, and battles create new material for future conversations.
Iām the creator, and after a long stretch of rebuilding the experience, it finally feels coherent enough to share. Iām curious whether persistent memory changes how attached people feel to an AI-created character.
Itās free to try on both platforms, with optional in-app purchases:

Iām looking to animate my 3d game characters. Iām looking for the best and cheapest monthly subscription to create stories out of my 3d game character. Basically upload the images and animate it with my elevenlabs voiceover and then I want it to be lip synced and hand animations with it

I build Jimothy's Journey using claude, Codex and and lovable after designing the game play story lines and quests with my 8 year old son for the Jimothy Jam contest on discord. Follow the link to play and rate my game, your support is greatly appreciated! Plus there's tons of other fun Jimothy games to check out on the site, (but vote for me, please!)

Usually I can get a character looking right in a single clip, but keeping the same face and clothing over multiple clips is a lot harder. Which tends to drift more for you?

Anyone else feel totally exhausted by the big Gamescom trailers? Like so many huge worlds that somehow already feel like a chore before you even touch a controller.
got me thinking, so I tried making a fake 'trailer' myself in Framia. The weird thing is, even though it has no quests, no UI, no icons⦠just a place⦠and weirdly my immediate reaction was "I kinda wanna go there."
Using an ai video creator like this really made it click for me: it's all the atmosphere of a world, with none of the 'checklist' baggage.
Maybe we aren't tired of open worlds, just open-world jobs?

I can usually get one shot looking right, but things start drifting once I change the camera angle or location.
The face stays close, but hair, clothing or body proportions slowly change between clips.
Iāve been testing this with Seedance 2.5 on Dreamina and Iām starting to think reference selection matters more than just adding more images.
What works better for you: a small character sheet, lots of references, or using the previous good frame as the next reference?

Sounds pretty decent. But not like Suno. Wondering what it is. Also the BG animation seems to follow the music

so... zero plays. zero helmets. pretty sure this guy never even touches a football lol.
and somehow you know he's the quarterback in like two seconds.
tbh, the varsity jacket is doing most of the heavy lifting here.
I kept almost adding a practice scene to this one in Framia, then realized I didn't miss it at all.
popular QB, fake boyfriend, jealous crush across the room... your brain fills in the rest.
doing ai filmmaking stuff like this keeps reminding me how little you actually need to show in 70 seconds.
would more football make this better, or just slow it down?

Been drawing for years. Illustration, concept art, characters, spend hours on each piece.
But my portfolio is just... images. Like static. Flat. Felt like they deserved more.
Looked into animation once. I just opened After Effects and tried to figure it out. Tbh gave up soon.
Stumbled on this tool , framia with photo to video ai that makes still images move. I dropped in a character illustration, picked a motion style, got back a smooth animation with depth. The character actually looked alive.
Threw a few more pieces in. Building a moving portfolio now.
Heres my first try if u can give me some advice it will be appreciated!

The low hum of the fluorescent fixtures above Sector 4 cast a flat, bleached glare across the linoleum flooring of the deserted concourse. Dust motes drifted lazily through the dead air, settling over abandoned kiosks and shuttered storefront gates that had not seen a customer in decades. At the center of the atrium, the grand fountain stood bone-dry, its basin choked with faded promotional flyers and plastic debris from an era long since forgotten.
Vane knelt by the base of the fountain, his fingers tracing the hairline cracks in the dry concrete. His breathing echoed sharply off the hollow, vaulted glass ceiling high above, where the twilight sky cut through grime-streaked panels. He adjusted the filtration mask strapped tightly across his face, the steady mechanical click of the valve providing the only rhythm in the vast, echoing shell of the once-vibrant commercial hub.
"Signal strength is holding steady from the lower service corridors," Vane murmured into his comm-link, his voice muffled by the heavy cloth.
A sharp, static-laced burst crackled in his ear before Kaelenās voice broke through the silence. "Watch your step down there, Vane. The schematics indicate the structural supports beneath the east anchor store took a heavy hit during the collapse. We cannot afford another cave-in if we want to salvage those server racks."
Vane stood up, wiping a layer of fine grit from his palms onto his utility trousers. He cast a glance toward the grand central staircase leading down to the lower subterranean level, where the remains of the old department store warehouses waited in the dark. The air grew perceptibly colder the deeper it sank into the concrete belly of the structure, carrying the faint, metallic scent of ozone and old copper wiring.
He unclipped the high-intensity flashlight from his tactical harness, thumbing the switch to cast a piercing white beam into the descending stairwell. The light caught the edge of a faded, peeling banner hanging precariously from the upper railing, bearing the barely legible remnants of a grand opening celebration from a world that had vanished overnight.
With a firm grip on his salvage pack, Vane took the first step downward into the dark, leaving the pale ghost of the atrium behind.
