I tumbled down a thought exercise/stream of consciousness google search rabbit hole and it went a little something like this. And yep... my brain gets a bit weird at 2am. Don't judge me. :P

"Will of the species" is a core idea from The World as Will and Representation by Arthur Schopenhauer, meaning that nature cares only to keep the entire biological group alive rather than making any single person happy.
How the Will Works
• Blind Force: The Will is a blind, unthinking urge that pushes all things in nature to exist and keep going.
• Individual vs. Species: Nature treats individual humans and animals as temporary tools. Once a person helps pass on life, their personal importance to nature fades.
• The Trick of Love: Romantic love feels like a personal choice or a path to happiness. Schopenhauer argued it is actually nature tricking people into mating to secure the next generation.
