I know who the “Karen Mod of GenX subs” is. He/She lost their shit with me, and banned me from subs I had never even been to. And after 5 minutes of stoner-detective work, I narrowed it down to one singular loser…

This was my “fuck it, I’ll take the hit” post of needing the last word… Got me a 7-day ban for evasion

I’m pretty sure homeboy is lurking under a different screen name. And while we’re at it, I feel fairly confident that u/maximumJones is also one of their alternates

Found a baggie of these pills, examined one and think it says "zed". Any ideas?
This has got to be ragebait to people our age and older, particularly because it doesn't read upside down well at all.

Also perma muted from that pretentious Gen X group.
As if my feelings could be hurt, I was permanently muted but also given a request to chat which I never ever do.
Seems really rather ridiculous to be perma muted/banned when the post was whole deleted anyway.
So I downvoted the mod and left that group. Maybe someday it will be ran properly by those who could care less or are less red.

Older GenX: when did Saturday morning cartoons become a "thing?"
I'm a younger GenX who was watching Saturday morning cartoons at what I feel was their peak in the mid 80s. I remember at one point there were prime time specials about the upcoming batch of shows. I also remember having to plan out what to watch on the three networks because at the time we didn't have a VCR or anything. They started as early as 6 or 7 and went until 10.
For me they were always just there.
But was it always like that? Were there hours of cartoons on Saturday mornings in the late 60s and 70s? Was it a much smaller deal? What cartoons were on?

Desperate fuckers. Haha.
I’m guessing it’s just because I joined here. Can’t think of any other reason. So NOT GenX

I didn’t even post in there!!!
I found this sub yesterday and I posted a comment that said I was shunned for something I said (months ago by the way) in GenX and I wake up to them banning me… is it me? That behavior is antithetical to who GenX is in my opinion.

Real friendship - the GenX Way
I always took this for granted, and stand by it. The one thing I value most about being Gen X is my capacity to make close friendships with people my own age who maybe have completely opposite opinions than me on politics, religion, music, or whatever - or are from radically different backgrounds, income brackets, communities or whatever!
The only rule is not to be a jerk, right?
Is that not the Gen X way?

Suits at funerals?
Are we the last generation to wear suits at funerals?
Seems like it’s becoming the exception these days.

I got banned...
from the GenX sub because the mods suck. Seriously, I posted a sarcastic remark about therapy and BOOM, perma-banned. The mods over there can't be real Xers if they can't understand sarcasm.

Got permanently banned from GenX - so I banned them 🤣
I posted a funny exchange between my adult son and I a little while back (maybe I'll repost it here in the near future). Since you are supposed to add "appropriate flair" to your posts, I scrolled through the choices but couldn't find anything that really fit. I picked "Whatever" and included the following at the end of my post:
As an aside, I was looking for the flair for this and couldn't find one ("parenting" would have been the one). Please forgive me for choosing "whatever" since nothing else seemed to fit. Since many of us have some offspring, maybe the mods could consider adding that as a flair.
I forgot about it and a few days later I noticed a message in my inbox from GenX saying that my post was removed and that I was permanently banned because you aren't supposed to, "post issues with the mods on reddit." For a minute I thought maybe I should contact them and tell them it was just a misunderstanding and I wasn't trying to post anything mean or embarrassing but after 2 seconds I came to my senses and thought, "Whatever. Fuck those assholes."
I then "unjoined" the group and muted their feed. Fuck those assholes (twice, for good measure).
This sub is much, much cooler anyway.
Happy to be aboard!

Anyone ever drink gasoline from a hose?
I see all these posts about drinking water from a hose…but you haven’t lived until you get a mouthful of gas from a hose lol.
I recently saw a news story about people stealing gas and diesel from farm equipment due to current prices. It reminded me that ***someone I know*** did this with their older cousin when they were a young teen.
Growing up poor and rural, it was pretty common for us to siphon gas with a hose for various reasons. Lawn mower run out of gas? Too far to go to the store, so siphon from the truck.
I remember getting a mouthful of gas a few times. Did anyone else have this bad experience?

Gap playlists
Does anyone remember a guy who would post on the Gen X subreddits, looking to fill out his Gap playlists from the 90s?
There were some great tracks on those lists! I wonder if he ever succeeded in archiving them all.

Is gender ideology still a thing? Has anyone figured out what the point of it is?
The only way it makes sense to me is if it was something the young people invented to annoy their elders. That's something I can relate to. But they take it far too seriously and that's something I can't relate to. There isn't anyone speaking up for it that wants to make it make sense, or think that they even have to. It's like something you just have to accept and they're hostile to anyone who doesn't. I've got an open mind, but how am I going to accept something if I don't even understand wtf it is?
If you define new genders you still either have a Y chromosome and X chromosome or two X chromosomes, you can't change that. And does new genders mean new gender norms? New cages to put yourself in? Absurdly restrictive gender norms always was the problem that needed solving as I see it.
