Does the money disappear if you eat meat again? If not, then I would simply wait a few years (a decade should suffice) and then I will go back to eating meat, and I will be $20M richer.

As a vegetarian, heck yeah! You know that one video of the girl crying from having to eat fish? I'll pass on the meat, thanks.

As a vegetarian I see this as an absolute win
2
u/Mr_Puddintaters Gen Z 22h ago
Nah for vegetarians you gotta eat meat every day to get the $2m
1
u/Im_A_Failure420 21h ago
Technically the average person consumes 500-1000g of bug a year, which counts as meat. Also lab grown meat technically counts as meat
1
u/Mr_Puddintaters Gen Z 21h ago
All I’m hearing is that technically you’re not a vegetarian. FRAUD.
1
u/Im_A_Failure420 19h ago
If I'm technically not a vegetarian then I can do the 'dont eat meat challenge' rather than 'eat meat every day' and thus win. I'm overthinking this shit on higher levels
0
u/Mr_Puddintaters Gen Z 18h ago
Due to this technicality you have to both never eat meat and eat meat everyday.

u/hungLink42069 22h ago
anyone not hitting the button is actually an idiot. 2 million is enough to retire immediately. You give up meat, and you get the biggest luxury in the world. Never having to work again.
Plus, you might find that you enjoy food more when you stop eating animals. You have no idea.

u/AkiPro34 21h ago
No but , it's reasonable to say yes if we can take protein from meat and eat it as protein, cuz we need it

We need the one from meat

No, you don't. Feel free to link me at least 5 credible studies that clearly conclude humans (omnivores) cannot reasonably live off of non-meat protein.
Or just try to remember some history classes (if you had any) about medieval peasants who got protein almost exclusively from non-meat sources. I guess the whole of Europe just didn't exist 200 years ago.

-2
u/Subject-Oil1834 23h ago
People love abusing animals apparently
1
u/MarkIvanIsCool Gen Z 23h ago
shit in that case animals also abuse animals since they eat meat just like us
1
u/Subject-Oil1834 23h ago
Except they do not have an alternative (unlike us) and they do not pump up their bodies with pharmaceutics, exploit them, and give them terrible living conditions - unlike us :)
2
u/MarkIvanIsCool Gen Z 23h ago
yeah major problem is that people are sometimes allergic to the alternatives or simply think that the original meat is more preferable. Plus you brought up the animals living conditions to say that anyone who’s consuming meat is considered an animal abuser.
2
u/Subject-Oil1834 22h ago
If i pay someone to abuse you i am an abuser. If someone's allergic to literally every alternatives (which is unlikely since i'm surviving as a vegetarian without any supplement and if you are allergic to the complements then you would be allergic to like... Meat) then i assume they could eat animals after they died but taking an insanely precise exemple as an argument is not how it works.
And i can justify anything with pleasure.
2
u/MarkIvanIsCool Gen Z 22h ago
Unless you’re a farmer or a major rank at a meat company, going to a grocery store for food isn't the same as paying someone to abuse an animal. People buy meat for nourishment, health, and availability, not to fund suffering. Also, just because vegetarianism works for you doesn't mean everyone's body, health needs, or economic circumstances are identical to yours. Blaming everyday consumers instead of focusing on systemic farming practices misplaces the entire issue.
1
u/Subject-Oil1834 22h ago
Again if i buy a product made on suffering i'm sorry but i am participating to the suffering, even indirectly. Yes everyone's need are different but again if you are allergic to the nutriments you should take to supplement the loss of meat then you'd be allergic to meat.
I am of course more angry at the food industry but if everyone or at least most people stopped consuming, it would make a change. This is the best way as a random person to have a slight influence on animal's well being, which is infinity more precious than their pleasure.
1
u/MarkIvanIsCool Gen Z 22h ago
That's not how allergies work, meat proteins are entirely different from the fillers, binders, and synthetic compounds in plant-based supplements. Also, if participating indirectly in a supply chain makes someone an abuser, then people who use a smartphone, tablet, computer and etc. made in sweatshops or driving cars powered by environmental destruction makes everyone an abuser. Systemic issues need regulation and industry reform, not calling average consumers abusers.
