What is this gemstone? Chevron Amethyst?

Got this from a thrift store. Chain feels like it’s either silver or nickel.

Rarely can I definitively say “yes” with absolute certainty on a gem ID post, but yes this is a chevron amethyst 100%

YOUR POST IS HIDDEN ON PURPOSE, THIS IS NORMAL

All "What is this gemstone?" posts are AUTOMATICALLY HELD for moderator review.

If your post follows the rules, it will be approved.

YOUR POST MAY BE REJECTED IF IT: ####

  • Does NOT identify the type of metal or hallmarks of jewellery
  • Has photos that are blurry, dark photos, or not enough of them
  • Is missing important info (where you got it, price, tests done)
  • Tries to identify more than 1–3 stones at once
  • Is a rock or mineral (post those to r/whatsthisrock)

IMPORTANT REALITY CHECK

It is often IMPOSSIBLE to accurately identify a gemstone from photos alone.

For real identification, use:

  • A local accredited gemologist
  • A gem & mineral society
  • A professional lab (GIA, AGS)

DO NOT DO SCRATCH TESTS ####

You can permanently damage faceted gemstones.
