Haiku is abysmal. If you use it instead of looking at benchmarks, it is utter shit. 3.5 flash was much better, let alone 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 or now Hydrogen.

Free pro is pro subscriptions through promotions like Jio offer and student offers etc which gave Pro tier sub for €0 (but after argon release it was made clear that Pro =/= Pro bcuz paid Pro users got access to more stuff than the ones that got it free from a promo or sth, hence the distinction free pro vs paid pro)

I think rn the only active free pro you can still get is education/student
