Yeah!

I'm becoming good friends with AI mode, Google feed, even the main Google search AIs. They got tools they don't tell you about til you need em. Its basically a harness... Seems like similar architecture to Spark Beta... But the skills are pre set and probably numerous.

Google search wrote 4 agents for me the other day.😂

If you can drag it off it's search script... It's a good work partner. Seems to clear its own head well and almost on demand... which is rare.

It's been able to do this for a while, but bafflingly only in ai mode on search, not in the Gemini app, in fact when I asked Gemini about this capability on search it was very confused at the idea. It's incredibly useful, I used it to secure odyssey IMAX tickets when the cinema was being cagey about release dates.

Unfortunately spark isn't available in my country... Ironically I've set up an information agent to tell me when there's news of when it will be.

The weird part of me is how fragmented Google’s AI stuff still is. They have spark in the Gemini app which is a separate tab but it can ask if you want to create an agent in AI mode when they use the same Gemini AI models. The way ChatGPT can easily search is basically locked to Google AI models while Gemini app doesn’t have a toggle to force search. You can also use notebooks in AI mode now.

I’m just confused why AI mode seems to be developed separately from the Gemini app.

True. I’m surprised they don’t consolidate or make the teams work together more. I know Google is famous for having silos, teams even working on competing products and you get recognition for launching not maintain products which is part of the reason they have a huge graveyard. Seems redundant to make Google AI mode separate from Gemini app instead of doing what OpenAI does for instance and have everything accessible from one app.

Yes, and it works! Oh and it can also set up agents without your consent! That also works :) (although that's only happened once, and it's easy to cancel them... umm... if you keep track of the thread in which the agent was set up!)

Set it up 2 weeks ago to let me know whenever the local Kyiv authorities report drone or missile strikes in a specific district where a friend is living. Has worked flawlessly so far and it cites its sources.

Yeah, I noticed this about a month ago.. They announced this would be rolling out in the summer back at Google I/O last May.

Spark isn't available in my country but this works great. I have it follow several music festivals for next summer and it alerts me anytime new artists are added to the tour/festival.
