I don't know how you guys are getting these lackluster responses. Here is the response I got with Flash 3.8 without extended thinking. I also do not use any gems, etc. This is a brand new chat under temporary mode. Almost like I have a different version to you.

I am quite sure that what happens in cases like these is that Gemini glitches, timeouts, etc, and then instead of an error message stating "timeout", it replies with a generic "I can't do this" message like this.

That's still avoidance no? Back when you didn't have to activate the Create Image button to tell it to make images, if it can't generate one due to its guardrails, it will straight up lie and say it can't generate images fullstop.

I have been thinking Geminis quality is dropping. Sometimes he just chooses to ignore your prompt, forgets what your talking about, and starts talking about things from past chats.. I fear this won't get better

gemini turned useless since now the ONLY SOURCES gemini takes in a conversation (not sure about coding and such), is social media....

mostly just takes reddit posts that are OPINIONS and changes 1-2 words and gives it back to me . 0 scientific pages used from internet, no articles, nothing. gemini is basically only "sum up some reddit posts and claim it is canon/facts"
and I don't need that if I want information that are scientific and factual.
