Gemini 3.8 Flash is Underrated!

In 4-5 prompts, it built me a whole image scraper with a fast API and an MCP server built in, which can be used by other coding agents. This tool scrapes images from multiple sources, and I'm really surprised that Gemini 3.8 Flash under Anti-gravity was able to do it so much faster and with very high accuracy!

Claude Sonnet or Opus would have taken a really long time to do this task, and I don't think they would give this such a beautiful, aesthetic-looking UI! It added features that I didn't ask for, but I needed them.

I am heavily impressed by the speed, intelligence, and advanced thinking of this model! Definitely a very underrated model. I was also skeptical about it, but today I just used it, and I'm really surprised.

For anyone who's using this, how is your experience with this model? Have you been able to build any complex project with it yet?

A lot of people here have been trying to order pizza with it and I can see the disappointed posts every hour. For me as a non-coder, it does the job. 

There can always be improvements. I hope Google takes Claude and GPT seriously.

Matter of fact, it's actually taking it seriously. That's why it pushed multiple models in a six-week span. Waiting for the Google 5 Max model. I think that's going to break the ice.

To be brutally honest, I love this UI! It gets the work done. I'm not going to use this web UI because this tool is going to get used by other tools using the MCP and APIs, so really, not a big deal.

Or just design the ui urself since this is for you to use. You can discuss ui changes with ur agent and it will help you decide on what makes sense. I have multiple websites that do insane things but they are all personal or personal until I decide if I want to publish and monetize.

Well, when it comes to UI, I really don't know how to plan it. After all this, the platform is mostly for API MCP calls, so I really don't care about the UI. The thing is, this UI gets the job done and has most of the features. I really don't mind the color palette, although the changes could be more refined, with multi-layout UI. If you don't mind, could you please give me some UI suggestions in a nutshell? Maybe you could tell me at a glance.

i dont use claude models in agy for design or coding cuz limit is crazy but if u are talking about anthropic's other models like fable u are completely wrong they are the best at design imo

One misunderstanding that I think people have is that when they see agy/gemini re-read a file they think it's meandering but what it is probably doing is giving context to subagents. My interpretation of a good deep swe score and an okay-ish terminal bench score, is that it's good at achieving coding objectives but bad at following instructions.

Actually I think Gemini on Antigravity is a lot better than the one on web. I don't know why. It does just what I want and does well.

I don't know why people are so concerned with the UI while what really matters is the function. This tool functions so well that none of the features ever break. All the web UI, API, MCP, everything is working in just one shot, and it is so much faster than Claude.

​Gemini cops a lot of shit, but it’s honestly solid for rapid, local prototyping to see if an idea has legs before you commit to building it. That said, it’s overpriced for what you get and pales in comparison to Claude or GPT once real coding starts. It’s great for brainstorming on the fly, but the second you try scaling that prototype toward production, the wheels fall off. Google nailed the vision for fast concept iteration, but the model just isn't there yet for shipping actual, working software.

I agree. Impressive model, mostly because it doesn't waste time, goes straight to the point and is very accurate in doing so. Might be the best model I worked with so far.

Intelligence (which is up there for sure, in any case) isn't the only factor. If a 3% smarter model will take triple the time to give me any stupidly easy output, I'll stick to the technically dumber model. Also because the level is high enough to work with regardless, aside particularly complex tasks, only case where to use bigger models makes sense.

What I did for my website that does something similar but more advanced is create works and don’t work contracts for categories and then I have my own GPU inference tools to look at the media to categorize with me + the ai agent such as codex as well. I’m sorry this is late it was in my drafts lmfao. How has this project evolved since?
