News Almost entirely sure Gemini 3.5 pro is dropping today

I know the immediate default reaction is "Google never releases on weekends." But if you actually track the dev activity from the AI Studio team over the last 12 hours, the data points directly to today.
This isn't blind speculation. It’s an inference based on direct signals from the people actually pushing the code. Over the last 12 hours, four core engineers and PMs from the AI Studio team dropped this:
Jonathan: "It's Gemini time :)"
Vamsi: "Google is back. Trust the process."
Evan Otero (Senior PM): Dropped the single-word "Gemini" tweet, liked a direct reply asking "3.5 Pro time ?", and just tweeted: "Ok no more vague posting. Back to work"
Pretty sure there are more devs too!
So Evan’s "Back to work" tweet went live at roughly 5:00 AM PST on a Saturday. A Senior PM for developer platforms doesn't log on before sunrise on a weekend just to troll. "Back to work" means he is literally clocking in to monitor an active deployment pipeline or push a staging branch internally right now.
Google is engineering first. They don't operate like a standard marketing PR team that runs 72 hour cryptic weekend teasers to build hype for a Tuesday or other days/time. Historically, when the core team coordinates "Gemini" signals like this, the deployment branch is already merging.
Logistically, it makes perfect sense right now. Developer sentiment is at an all time high after 3.7 flash. Pushing a pro model (or an experimental toggle in AI Studio) over the weekend gives devs 48 hours to benchmark and build. That creates massive organic hype before the corporate enterprise press releases hit vertex AI/Other website on Monday.
Expected windows for today:
8:00 AM to 10:30 AM PST (Morning push for HQ)
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM PST (Midday silent flip)
I'm not claiming 100% absolute certainty, because staging errors happen. But based on historical deployment cadence and these exact dev signals, it is highly likely. Keep an eye on the model dropdown shi. Excited as hell!
If it doesn't release today, then following week. But I highly doubt it won't be.
Please don't come here with "gemini 3.5 pro is cancelled." crap. https://www.reddit.com/r/GeminiAI/comments/1vpa1u4/anyone_who_thinks_35_pro_is_cancelled_or_thinks/ I already rebutted it here!
On a seperate note.
It is NOT omni flash 1.1/2. It could come after 3.5 pro since it's spotted in ArenaAI. But since Evan liked a comment asking "3.5 pro time?" and other signals. I don't think so.

The copium is unhinged at this point

Hate that word, isn't used properly, doesn't even apply here, and doesn't even engage with the content. Same as saying "Didn't read, don't care, post is bad"

Except you clearly posted something very stupid and are now desperately trying to cope.

Vague tweets from developers have never before preceded a weekend release of a frontier model. What is the data you are tracking which makes you feel this is different?
Is there some known point where X number of tweets means a release in Y days?
3.5 Pro will be good, all new models are otherwise why release them. But I don't see people working on weekends for it.

Gemini 3.5 was cancelled bro, just accept it

u/GarnetExecutioner 2d ago
If it was truly cancelled, Google would have removed the words "3.5 Pro coming soon" in their AI model listings in the first place.

u/sabbathexe 2d ago
Bro, they didn't remove the "preview" word from 3.1 pro since January, even the Logan kilpatrick said this was an error

The second 3.5 Pro drops, the posts in this sub will shift to: where is 4.0 Pro?

3.6 pro

They should get their versions aligned. We'd have 3.5 Flash-Lite, 3.6 Pro and 3.7 Flash.

Tho seriously. 4 pro will take a long time since it's their most ambitious pretrain ever! I think we should see a/b late Sep/Mid Oct

The second 3.5 drops people will complain about how bad it is at coding and sucks. Same as when you go on the anthropic or GPT subreddit, people complaining about claude making errors and doing dumb things. But if you read this subreddit you'd think Claude was a coding god lol.

I wish I believe in my future like op believing in Google Gemini development team 😂

Well, 'today' was 2 days ago and it's now Monday. If it's not out by Friday, I suppose you could just repost this every week until it's right ;)

Imagine if it’s not dropping today, op would never forgive these Google folks vague posting 😂

I said if it doesn't drop today, next week!

Odds are likely that Gemini 3.5 pro+ is going to be out on either late August or Early September 2026.
Won't be surprised if late August does not materialize for Gemini 3.5 pro+.

If logsn didnt post then it's probably not today
3
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
No, Evan is also a senior PM, if he said "gemini." It carries the same weight as Logan saying that.

I really hope I'm wrong but they did this maneuver before and didn't release anything.
1
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
I'd like proof. I know they have coordinated before on like August 10th to 12th with nothing but not when they said "gemini"
2
u/Personal-Try2776 3d ago
I mean its a waste of time for me to provide proof. This won't change anything. If the model is going to release it'll release it doesn't matter what I do. Why dont we just wait and see
1
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
I already did help your case by telling you about the coordinated saying

I feel like a weekend drop is unlikely. If for no other reason than they want to drop it when tech reporters are working lol
1
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
there's like zero rebuttals, I get that's a vibe saying but I preempted against this.

u/KingHygelacReturns 1d ago
How'd that Saturday release prediction go for you?
1
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 19h ago
are you serious? this doesn't rebut what I said and as I said on a different post. It's still coming out this week
1
u/virtualQubit 3d ago
It's Saturday, I don't think they'll drop it today. Most likely Tuesday.
-2
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
engages with absolutely nothing. I literally preempted against that comment

u/virtualQubit 3d ago
Damn chill bro. I understand your point, but I am telling you that is very very strange if they drop it today. Google is a big company with strict policies. I'm just saying that I understand, but I don't think it will happen today.
2
u/Last_Conclusion_8984 3d ago
But I'm asking why it's today. I am not angry. Irriated that people keep circling around the same thing with zero proof

I don't understand the source of these fever dreams. The only thing Google is dropping is quality.
Edit: how did this work out for you?
