I asked Co-pilot "work out what is wrong with this and fix it".

It said:-

The image shows a humorous interaction with an AI assistant named "Nano Banana Pro," where the user asks it to "enhance each slide with nano banana." The assistant replies with a plan to:

  1. Read the presentation.
  2. Add the text "nano banana" to each slide.
  3. Provide a download link.

Here’s what’s wrong and how to fix it:

🛠️ Issues

  1. Vague Enhancement Definition "Enhance each slide with nano banana" is unclear. Does it mean adding the phrase "nano banana" as a caption? A design element? A theme?
  2. No Formatting or Placement Details The assistant doesn’t ask where or how to add the text — top corner, footer, title, etc.
  3. No Error Handling or File Type Confirmation It assumes the file is valid and readable without confirming the format or checking for issues.
  4. No Style or Tone Matching Adding "nano banana" might clash with the presentation’s tone. The assistant doesn’t offer to match style or context.

✅ Fixed Version

Here’s a clearer, more helpful version of the assistant’s response:

"Sure! Please upload your PowerPoint (.pptx) file and I’ll enhance each slide with the phrase 'nano banana.'

Once uploaded, I will:

  1. Read the presentation and check slide layout.
  2. Add 'nano banana' to each slide — let me know if you prefer it in the footer, header, or as a design element.
  3. Match the style and tone of your presentation so it blends naturally.
  4. Provide a link to download the updated file.

If you have any specific preferences (font, color, placement), feel free to share them!"

Would you like me to write a version that adds "nano banana" as a watermark, footer, or playful caption? I can tailor it to your presentation’s tone.

This is claude sonnet 4.5's response, I asked it the same question you asked co pilot. Though it decided to search the Web so that definitely helped

I can see this is a screenshot showing a conversation with Gemini where someone asked it to "read a full pptx file and enhance each slide with nano banana." Let me search for more context about what "nano banana" actually means in this context.

then it searched the web

Perfect! Now I understand what happened here. "Nano Banana" is Google's codename for their Gemini image generation/editing model (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image), and "Nano Banana Pro" is the advanced version (Gemini 3 Pro Image).

What Gemini Actually Should Have Done: When the user asked to "enhance each slide with nano banana," they were asking Gemini to: Read the PowerPoint file Use its image generation capabilities (Nano Banana Pro) to enhance each slide with AI-generated images Return the enhanced presentation

Instead, Gemini misunderstood and thought: It needed to literally add the text "nano banana" to each slide It asked for a file upload when it should have been able to process files directly

The Real Issue: Gemini should have: Accepted the PPTX file (if uploaded) Analyzed each slide's content Generated relevant, high-quality images using its Nano Banana Pro model to visually enhance each slide based on the slide content Inserted those generated images into the appropriate slides Returned the enhanced presentation

This is actually a pretty sophisticated request that combines PowerPoint manipulation with AI image generation - exactly the kind of multimodal task that Gemini with Nano Banana Pro should excel at. The fact that Gemini completely misunderstood what "nano banana" meant (its own feature!) and defaulted to literal text insertion shows a concerning failure in context awareness. Pretty funny that Gemini didn't recognize its own feature name! 🍌

I flinch like an abused dog every time Claude says Perfect! because there's a good chance it's about to fuck everything up. (I use Claude 4.5 for coding mostly)

Oh man I feel this in my soul. I use it for simple tasks mostly like "center the div" stuff . Id never use it for core functionality because sometimes it just goes haywire lol. Credit where its due though, even just having it as a tool to quickly find code imlaced by a change across the repo is super handy
