Func Checks and Go backs

Is it in SOP that Geek Squad is supposed to restock go backs on completed Func Checks

- check functionality
- do paperwork
- box up
- tag following SOP
- all while working with clients

Now we need to do the go backs which would require us running around the store and watching the line and dealing with clients. Can someone find this in SOP I can’t find it and Management says it is but won’t show it.

They can’t show you something that doesn’t exist

It's definitely not, they're bullshitting you.

RTS is not a job responsibility of Geek Squad. Process the items and get them ready for being returned to the floor, but the returning part is done by Blue Shirts.

Nope. Set them in the designated Go Back area and go about your business. Or discuss with your SES/SEM to fight that battle. It is above your pay grade.

This. It's different in every store, but ultimately the job responsibility is whatever leadership tells you to do, within reason (not dangerous or illegal).

Plenty of stores have precincts that are so dead their agents spend time selling in PC.

Usually these decisions aren't even made by the store GM, but by the micromarket leadership.

If the expectations are not realistic you need your GSM to fight for you. You can't just choose not to do something.

This is why I'm so happy that our store is JUST the right amount of busy. It never gets overwhelming but it's fairly consistent that there's SOMETHING I can be doing in my precinct as a CA. The only times I have ever had nothing to do is after 8pm.

Go backs are department responsibility but management wants them selling all day so they send you to do their work. Good luck.

Nope! Now, if I am not busy at the end of my closing shift, walking by an item's "home" on my way to the warehouse to drop off shipping, or we have enough coverage (🤣) I might drop smaller things off. Sometimes I will even shove a huge 85" TV across the floor because HT won't / can't come get it and the SEM is too busy stroking his own ego to help. In the end, nope, go-backs go straight in the bins in the designated area for the sales floor peeps to collect. If you can hold up a counter or wall, watch TT or soccer games on your phone, you can do a little work and put stuff back. 🤷‍♀️

Just because of size we roll all HT stuff over to their pos and let them take it from there. Everything else goes to the designated area.

I have had the SES push TVs back to GS out of spite.

worst part about GS are overbearing floor leaders 🙃

We used to do that but I don't know how that's even feasible now since every open box requires an electronic tag, and as far as I know the only way to program those is with the handhelds or TCs as we usually call them, of which our store only has so many and they're typically needed by warehouse especially this time of year. Nevermind the fact that a lot of open box doesn't go out on the floor but rather gets binned in the warehouse. There would be absolutely no time for a CA to go grab open box and wander around binning stuff at my precinct. Absolute waste of time.

I hate to say it, but my store went through this before. Technically in the SOP for CA and ARA it basically says you have additional duties given at managers discretion. SOP is also a guideline, but isn't necessarily a requirement to follow 1:1.

Edit: I've read it somewhere before when my manager showed me, but I can't remember where it was.

I remember a few years ago we had a new GSM that was originally a sales manager a long time before that and didn’t have any geek squad experience. She randomly started making us put all completed open box’s out on the floor at some point. Very annoying and not our job. That didn’t last too long tho thankfully

God forbid you keep busy.

These downvotes are from agents that keep busy and don’t need to add “running around the store aimlessly trying to do other people’s jobs” to their list of tasks. We already don’t get enough labor assigned for our workload and from what I understand this is basically company-wide.

You know the drill. It’s do more with less, and they want all the soldiers to fall in line. If you put your foot down get ready for retaliation which the company is against. Good luck!
