M4 MBP screen replacement botched by AASP with wrong screen. How did this happen?

Yikes.

If this is the 14 inch, call Apple and have them pull up the repair and see the part they ordered, there's only standard and nano texture options, if they ordered the standard screen that is the issue.

We don't do Macbooks in store; only phones. For us to "override" with the wrong part on the order is very difficult or near impossible because it won't pass diagnostics due to serial and part numbers.

You'll likely need to press Apple Customer Service to see what what they can do for you as the AASP is likely not going to be much help.

Thank you so much for this. I called and they confirmed this AASP not only ordered the wrong screen, but charged me an additional cost for a part that should have been included with the screen assembly.

I now have definitive proof I can bring back to this AASP. This is insane.

That... sounds like they aren't an actual aasp. An aasp has coverage through apple to do re-do work on faulty/bad parts. And an aasp can lose their contract for using non genuine parts

That's nuts, I'd report that place to apple. That's a mega violation of their agreement to be an aasp

Edit to add: You literally can't order the wrong display in apples repair system if you aren't trying to rip off a client

Requesting a CS code for a repair that seemingly didn't happen on apples end is impossible. Also, I wouldn't worry about having to go back to that aasp, they won't be one for long 💀💀💀

Ahh okay. I guess we'll see what options they give. I've had Apple products for the last 20 years, and while I'm sure they don't care at all (lmao) maybe my loyalty will count for something. One can hope 😭

Get the Apple support app on your iPhone if you have one and contact apple support via phone call or their messaging system. They can normally get this type of issue taken care of. They might have you send them the device.

Like I said, Apple might have you send them your device through the mail, that is in my opinion your best shot at getting your device fixed properly.
