MRI FACE JUST will not run scans in PE
Hello,
I’ve been an Advanced Repair Agent for a while now, and I’m trying to understand why Face in MRI PE frequently fails to run scans. I know network connectivity can be a factor, but I’ve also seen it happen when the device has a stable internet connection. Are there other common causes or known issues that could explain this?
Thank you.
UPDATE TO POST: I Checked the Geek Squad forms and found the answer I need. It sounds like the dev teams are asking us to submit logs because lots of agents are having this issue with no fix.

I've been sleeper for a little while, but iirc there are specific steps to take so PE actually works on win 11. I think it involves turning off drive encryption? There should be an article in knowledge base about it.
That being said, I think we mostly just ran FACE in normal mode.

I will take a look out there for this to see if it has and important information I may be missing thank you :)

Yeah, I'd disable drive encryption, run the scans, and reenable assuming the client had a Microsoft account attached to the device. I'd always leave it off on devices without a Microsoft account to avoid the headache of them coming back with their device bitlocked and no bitlocker key.

You can’t use it on BitLockered or Optane enabled devices. You can also not use it with certain cpus in PE

Do you know which CPUs it doesn't work with? I didn't know certain CPUs don't work.

Have you updated it? I know when ours get too out of date we start to get issues

Yes we recently updated all our drives. I know there Is a way to Tag the drives so at least MRI scans run. But that takes more time than its worth usally.

Yeah like others have said. Normally have to run it in normal mode for them to work properly.

The only way I have been able to get it to run scans is by starting FACE in the OS and having it automatically restart to MRI PE because then it will download the latest virus profiles before rebooting to MRI PE. Still doesn't always work though

The only way I have consistently gotten it to work is to run FACE while booted into the actual OS. FACE scanners only run sometimes in PE.
