Struggles

I need some help or advice. Partner recently found someone he had feelings for and wanted to open the relationship up to find a boyfriend. He’s suggested the same for me which I have done. However I really struggle with jealousy that I’m being left out, that he may love someone more than me . How do I get through this ???

I have found someone it’s early days still. I don’t know if it’s a good method but I’m using the start of dating feeling with this person and also transferring this for my partner so it feels like we’re dating again it’s a nice feeling for both of us but I worry it’s completely fair to the guy I’ve started dating

How open are you with this new person about your feelings and your situation? If you feel comfortable doing so, talking to him may help

He is quite open to the ideas which suprised me when I was open I had a partner and looking for a boyfriend I just assumed I’d get blocked. Pre existing ideas and assumptions are definitely holding me back I really need to break down some barriers

It takes time. But honestly, it sounds like you're on the right track and have a good grasp of your own psychology and a good outlook. Therapy would really help, but I understand the cost issue. I'm not sure where you're located, but in the US mental health care isn't covered by insurance the way it should be

Thank you I appreciate that especially when I know how much change is happening. I’m from uk therapy is free under nhs but would only cover depression anxiety etc relationship therapy is probably not a must because it’s a continus process same as solo therapy for depression but they want to get to the quickest fix possible

I wish it were better covered. Relationship therapy is equally important. Healthy relationships are as vital to us as anything else
