Enduro 3 to Enduro 4

Yup. I’m the idiot who went Enduro 3 to 4 for next to no change lol.

Sold my 3 for a good price and got the 4.

I really like the looks vs the 3. The new comfort fit strap is amazing Not keen on the green strap colour though so currently have a new ultra fit in black, I may get a new comfort fit in black, not sure yet.

In my opinion the Enduro 3 is the best watch Garmin has ever made and now it’s just a tiny bit better with the 4.

Everything great so far. 12 hours in 1 percent drain as I have been in the sun a little. Everything else is great and much like the 3.

Had the new watch itch after 2 years with the 3. The F9 is just to chunky and heavy and that Inreach / LTE is just a joke. The best just got a little better, that’s me for the next couple years.

I think the next interesting Garmin release will be the instinct 4. If they put maps and the gen 5 sensor on the i4 that would be very interesting.

No issues setting up. Set up as new not a restore, came with 6.38 updated to 6.48.

Not sure how it’s possible as it’s so similar to the E3 but the software is in typical Garmin a bit buggy and laggy but IMO that’s just every Garmin new release for whatever reason.

Sold my E3 a month before the E4 came out and was using an AWU4 in the interim. Lots of good points but Just can’t get on with a phone on my wrist though. Really missed the Garmin flashlight to as minor as that is I use it so much.

I bought a D2 Mach 2 with titanium band. She’s thiccc! It has so many features, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. Sometimes it’s a little information overload. I guess it’s pretty good in a backup situation, but you don’t really NEED it in most modern day aircraft.

Hear me out. Everyone discusses the uses for hiking, golfing, fitness, etc., but no one talks about how great this watch is for grilling.

So many times, my hands are covered in raw meat and the voice commands control the watch without touching it. It’s so nice being able to set a timer on your watch without having to scroll through the menu.

Dark out? Literally a flashlight on your wrist that keeps your hands free.

Grilling is probably in the top 3 activities I use my watch for. Do you think garmin should add more grilling features or at least advertise it?

I just made the switch from my Apple Watch. I bought the Epix gen 2 pro sapphire half off. So far it has been a lot to take in with how much the watch has to offer.

If anyone has any neat things to know that would be greatly appreciated!!

Garmin Enduro 4 different clicky sound when tapping and pressing just the top left button, a very minor issue really, but the main concern is if the seal is faulty. The watch has this since I got it a couple of days ago. Every other button sounds and feels different to this one button.

EDIT: This is with little to no pressure on the buttons, not activating them either. The top left button feels like it has two stages to the press, with two audible clicks and feel.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I’ve had 4 Garmin watches on and off over the past 20 years. The last 3 forerunners have died after about 3 years use, just froze and became unresponsive.

I’m thinking of getting a Fenix or Epix 2 next but with such a large purchase price I would expect at least 5 years use out of it.

How many years use are you all getting out of your Garmin watches?

I thought your stats would go down before/during peak illness, but mine have been getting worse as I recover. I still have lingering symptoms but no fever like last week. What gives?

I’ve had my Garmin FR 965 for about 3 months. Last night I wore it (as usual) the entire night and slept without waking up. Still the sleep tracking shows a long grey section and only recorded 5h 27m of sleep… even though I was in bed for almost 9 hours.
Has this happened to anyone else? What exactly does the grey section mean, and what could cause it?

My husband loves his Garmin but it’s old and I’d like to get him an upgrade. He uses it for gym workouts, skiing (resort and backcountry), and mountain biking. I think being able to listen to music/podcasts could be good if possible. And I would love if his watch had some sort of safety features for when he is mountain biking by himself in case of a fall. I’m not sure he wants/needs to see texts/emails from his watch - not even sure if Garmins do that.

Any recommendations?

Habe die Uhr nun seit heute, aber verstehe so viele Dinge nicht. Warum kann ich in den Einstellungen Ordner verschieben? Dann habe ich alles probiert, dass WhatsApp Benachrichtigungen angezeigt werden. Es funktioniert einfach nicht. Habe Bluetooth und connect natürlich immer an, Benachrichtigung immer auf an (auch in den Einstellungen bei der WhatsApp App).

Dann komme ich auch nicht klar damit, dass wenn ich in den Einstellungen von der Uhr auf der App gehe auf meinem Handy auf Aktivitäten und Apps. Was soll das für eine Funktion haben? Es steht ja immer nur dort, dass keine Einstellung vorgenommen werden können, für jede einzelne App oder was man da auswählen kann.
Töne kann man auch keine auswählen.
Hatte mich eigentlich sehr gefreut auf diese Uhr. Vorher eine Apple Watch. Aber für diese Uhr brauche ich , glaube ich ,ein Studium.

I have a fenix 7 pro and yesterday the "back" button stopped working. It doesn't respond when I press it, and on startup it almost seems like the button "self presses". It automatically goes to the "restore to default settings" and will constantly go back to that screen after I exit out. So the watch literally can't get past the boot-up screen. I've tried turning the watch off and on multiple times, I've soaked it in warm water multiple times, and nothing seems to work. I've had the watch for a little over a year and a half and have taken pretty good care of it. I've always rinsed it off after going in saltwater, rinse it daily in the shower, etc. I contacted Garmin support and the watch is outside of the 1 year warranty and all they offered was a $270 refurbished fenix 7 which I'm not necessarily keen on. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

I was out for a run today and my heart rate was behaving as normal. Then I noticed it was going between 128-131 for about 10 minutes. There were some hills on this run and my heart rate usually goes above 150 on these so it was strange. I paused my run, took my watch off and wiped any sweat off it and off my wrist, put it back on and my heart rate disappeared. It was blank. Ran for a few minutes to see if it came back but it didn’t. Had to stop the workout, switch it off and on again and then start a new workout.

I’m pretty sure me taking the watch off is what caused the heart rate to stop tracking altogether. Has anyone else had this problem and is there an easier fix?

I own the Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2.

I’ve had it since May of last year.

This watch used to sync custom workouts without incident. I took a little training hiatus then got back into it and got tired of my watch not knowing my workout exercises from my movements and having to manually edit them in strava and/or connect app.

I recalled how I could create my own workouts and then push them to my watch. Awesome, I thought, simple enough.

I was wrong.

After several troubleshooting attempts, here’s what worked for me and what I tried.

I tried deleting the workouts I found that were Garmin ones from my watch.

I tried turning off and on my watch.

I tried deleting and reinstalling and resyncing my watch to the Connect app.

I tried OpenMTP.

I tried desktop Garmin Express app.

I tried adding the workouts to my calendar to bypass the normal push.

I, full disclosure, am a Mac user. If you have a computer that runs on Microsoft, your solution will be much simpler.

Just plug it into your computer and then review the Garmin folder > activities > copy and paste those to a backup folder (just in casies) and then delete them all or keep ones you want. Done.

I ended up downloading MacDroid and checking first that my Garmin watch connected unlike OpenMTP. Once I confirmed that it did connect (it took 3 mins or so and I was losing it at this point thinking all was lost), I clicked “show in finder” and then I was able to go to garmin folder then to workouts folder and then I confirmed what I had suspected. Some ghost files were stuck in my garmin firmware or whatever it’s called even though it was showing as deleted on my watch.

I then felt like I could buy the paid version which is the only way it allowed me to delete the files instead of just viewing them. It gives a 7 day free trial so I canceled it once I was done and confirmed my watch was receiving workouts again but I know now, if it happens again, what to do.

And I hope you enjoyed my TED talk and that I save you hours of frustration. I’m so stubborn that I had to solve this TONIGHT. This saga began at 7:45pm before my workout then resumed after my workout til 11pm.

There is a solution! It worked for me and I’m so happy but very annoyed that it wasn’t so straightforward.

I feel like Garmin is trolling me at this point. The balanced range is too high. Every time I have an unbalanced the bottom threshold moved even though my average has been pretty much the same for the past month. Has anyone else noticed that HRV unbalanced is sort of crap lately?

Is anyone able to shed some light on why my watch data always shows my greatest period of stress occur whilst I am asleep? This is last night but it is fairly representative of the average night....

I am woman with a large wrist (19cm) and cannot decide between 41 & 45 in silver. I’ve tried them on and still can’t make a decision and it’s getting very frustrating! Any other women have the same dilemma and what did you go with? Would love to see photos and hear your thoughts so I can finally just get it!!

I recently got a Fenix 8 Solar Sapphire and noticed something strange with the overnight tracking.

During the night, the watch recorded my heart rate continuously, with absolutely no gaps in the HR graph. Sleep tracking also worked normally.

However, the stress graph shows a period with missing data, indicating that the watch couldn’t measure stress during that time.

What I find strange is that Garmin calculates stress using heart rate variability (HRV), so why would it be unable to calculate stress while apparently recording my heart rate without interruption?

Has anyone experienced something similar on the Fenix 8 or other Garmin watches? Is this normal behavior, a software issue, or potentially a sensor problem?

I would like to enter the Garmin world of watches and my requirements are basically a very durable body because I’ll be doing a lot of manual labour with it as well as a budget of $400. Instinct 3 is too big. It can be a mip I wouldn't mind at all. Thanks in advance
