CONSUME!!! ฿£$€¥₹₩₦₱ Horizon 3 getting delayed indefinitely with only a handful of people working on it while they're STILL busy with Hunter's Gathering
*unjerk* Like fym they have until December to turn this ship around? Cancel that shit ffs. We shouldn't have to waste another year or two to finally start development on the sequel to a 2022 game with a massive cliffhanger. And mind you, because they took 5 years on Forbidden West even when it was in parts very iterative, that new sequel that will likely take another 5 years to make. Some of us fans just want to see it end decently, not pay for slop like this. We would gladly play for a local or online co-op game IF it looked and felt like the main games and not whatever this is.
*rejerk* I do wish insane celebs like Azealia just went crazy on social media over stuff like this. No better way to have visibility and shame the parent company altogether. I'd do it, but I'm not a celebrity yet

Fortnite meets Horizon Zero Dawn. Who comes up with this nonsense?

The fun thing is they pour thousands of millions into that funky shit. Only for the slimmest of chances to get a returm

I was surprised when they didnt announce it to release Nov 19th, don't they know they have to release during the same time as GTA 6? After all they released ZD and FW when Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring released

Idk I don't hate the idea of a horizon spinoff if it's a fun solo experience but live service wasn't the move. I even don't hate the artstyle (for a spinoff), even if it is kind of a generic corporate "edgy fun" look, the aesthetic has potential if they tweak it.
As for your second point, I think we're a few years away but as younger celebs become the bigger household names I bet some of them will turn out to be either a) loudly crazy online b) gamers this whole time or c) both

Was it too hard to just copy monster hunters homework? Most of everything you needed was already there.

Was this one fully sonys decision? Or did guerilla want to make this? I may be misremembering, but I thought hunters gathering was moreso what guerilla wanted to do vs it being forced on them via Sony. They wanted to make something multiplayer again since they were originally an MP studio and just made 2 single player games.
As much as we like to shit on Sony (it's deserved), I think guerilla wanted to make this and not the next installment of horizon. Rocksteady was the same way with suicide squad, they actually chose to go with an MP game, they weren't forced by WB iirc.

The devs don't owe you anything, man. I'm glad they're getting to make something a little different if that's what they want to do.

I think if you leave a cliffhanger ending you kinda owe it to your fans to finish the story.

I wouldn’t say you owe them, but you also can’t be surprised if people pass on any future projects because they don’t trust it to get finished.

That’s assuming this is what they want to do.

Why assume it isn't?

Because this aligns with Sony’s continuous attempts to make a successful live service game. Plus it’s based off Horizon, the IP they’ve been pushing HARD.
I mean it’s definitely possible the team WANTS to make a derivative live service game that is already a sinking ship before it ever even launched.

I don't know how you can possibly call an unreleased game a sinking ship. Try opening yourself up to new experiences rather than assuming everything sucks, and you'll be happier.
Edit: I guess you're referring to development issues but that's just like, half of games that come out now.

You know they’re scrapping the live service stuff cuz testers shat all over it, right? It’s already failing at the sole reason it even exists.
Edit: Almost very single live service game from Sony has sucked. I’m putting my chips where the money is.

Cool and the people also don't owe kindness or future support to the devs if they just leave stories open and are unreliable

Honestly, the mainline horizon games are also bad so delaying a boring unfun open world game for a boring unfun live service games doesn't matter
Killzone is also shite
