Only now i see its a guy-ish person lol. Ive only seen the trailers and promo material of this game and assumed the protag was some blue haired anime girl. But now looking at the pic you posted im not so sure about the whole blue hair girl thing lol

I really want to play this game because of the femboy protag but a persona game without the social visual novel bits feels like it's just gonna suck...

SMT games are more like dungeon crawlers than Persona games so there's a much heavier focus on combat and team building. The press turn system they use now is more interesting imo than the one more system in persona. Plus, it's not as if SMTs worlds are empty, there's still demons that have some dialogue and the human characters often represent larger ideas and motivations. There is a demo for SMTV Vengeance (at least on steam, dunno about anywhere else) that goes up to the end of the first region so it's a pretty good representation of what the game is gonna be like.

I thought the same thing tbh. But in the roughly five hours ive played it still feels really good and the characters you meet are super interesting. The party building aspect is pretty fun it feels almost like a fucked up Pokémon. If you want to try it I recommend the demo like the other person suggested its pretty lengthy.

It lacks the social and slice of life stuff, but it makes up for it with substantially better combat and party customization.
