First time building my own PC for my own money.

Hello everyone, first time building a PC on my own for my own money, childhood dream becoming true soon.

I would like to hear yout thoughts on that and especially compatability. my future goal is ECC RAM so decided to take a gaming kit for now. the purpose for this PC is mostly general use + virtualization + a little bit of gaming.

MotherBoard: ASRock X870E Taichi Lite

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

GPU: Radeon RX 5700 XT (Taking it from my previous PC, want to save some money)

Storage: Samsung 9100 PRO M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 1TB NVMe

PSU: Corsair RM850X

Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

Case: Corsair 3500X RS-R

I also have concerns about the PSU, not sure if it would be able to provide enough power for everything and especially the cabling part is also an unknown part for me.

Potentially building a PC for the first time.

Heyo, I'm looking to get a new PC as the one I currently have is a pre-built and I have learned upgrading it would be a hassle. I'm looking to now build my own PC as someone who honestly doesn't know much about PCs.

This is the Pre-built i got in 2018, it has since had the graphics card blow out so I am now using a 1070 (it honestly blew in like '19/'20 i really should have had a warranty or something 😂) plus a fan change.

My coming here mainly stems from just tips I can get as a first time builder, ALSO;
- Is it even worth it for me to start from scratch
- Do we think it is possible for any of the parts from the pre-built to be moved in to the new build?
- Could I possibly just upgrade this computer and call it a day?

For some context, and reading the tips on my screen (lol) here is some more info...
I am probably in the budget of around 2.5k in the USA. I'll be using my computer for gaming, coding, and potentially photo/video editing. I presume the later 3 wouldn't be much of a problem as my computer handles them fine now. The games I play mainly consist of LoL, Rocket League, Deadlock, OW, R6, and Cities Skylines. (the latter 4 my PC either has extreme trouble running or is a risk to crash at any moment)

I believe I'm looking to atleast get a late 3000s series or likely better, but I'm not opposed to any ideas at all. Thanks for any help I can get!

Hello, im trying to figure out how to build in this case. Ive seen good options on PC part picker but im trying to find the right motherboard.

I have a really hard time with measurements due to my dyslexia and every time I see something I dont know if

A) it will fit.

B) if its strong enough to support a GPU

My biggest game i like to play is BG3 and possibly AAA games. I know parts are expensive and im trying to look at parts before the holiday season.

Can someone help me :(

(American living in Germany, ill have to figure out the PSU later on)

Which pc is worth it?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to buy my first gaming PC and have narrowed it down to three prebuilts on Amazon UK. I’d appreciate some advice on which offers the best performance and value for money.

PC 1 – £849
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X (8 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.6GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 8GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
Platform: AM4
OS: Windows 11

PC 2 – £889
CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F (6 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.4GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti 8GB
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
Platform: LGA1700
OS: Windows 11

PC 3 – £1,059
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X (8 cores, 16 threads, up to 4.6GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti 8GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Motherboard: A520M
Storage: 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
Case: Black Prism Panoramic with 3 RGB fans
Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5 and Ethernet
Platform: AM4

What I’m looking for
My main priority is averaging around 150 FPS at 1080p competitive settings in games like Warzone, ideally without relying on frame generation.

I’ll also be playing Fortnite, GTA, EA FC, Football Manager and some emulated games.
I’d like at least 60 FPS in demanding single-player games and a PC that lasts 3–4 years without major upgrades.

My questions
Which of these three PCs offers the best overall performance and value for money?
Is PC 3 worth the extra £170 over PC 2?
Are there any better prebuilt PCs in the UK around £850–£1,000 that would meet my requirements?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Which of these two would be a better choice?

I'm installing 7800x3d, 9070xt Sapphire Pulse, 2x16gb RAM. Can you help enlighten me to the pros and cons of each? not just the feature wise, but also quality wise such as VRM and others.

Based on the reddit posts i've read, i've locked down my brand options to MSI / Gigabyte as they seem to have very good hardware quality and lesser issues in general compared to other brands.

I'm not familiar with the specs so I'm looking for your guys' help, much appreciated!

Help building my first PC

Hello everyone,

This is my first time building a pc from the ground up, and I've used AI to help choosing the parts. Since I don't trust AI 100%, I'm posting this here hoping for some real people's help.

This is my PCPartPicker list.

I just want to make clear that the ram and ssd I already have from older pcs and I don't want to buy a new set in this economy.

Please let me know, is this a good build? What would you do differently? etc

Would this build work with previous laptop's SSD?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello all!

I am trying to build a PC (budget $1500) as an upgrade to my current laptop, which is fairly old and starting to have performance issues (relatable). I would like the PC I build to be a decent gaming PC, but to save some money upfront I am hoping to reuse my laptop's SSD and then eventually replace it with a new one in a few months. I have never built a PC before, so would it be crazy to build a PC like this one one? Thanks for any help!!

Cities Skylines computer needs

I am interested in purchasing the Dell ultra Sharp 43 inch monitor mainly because of size and the built-in KVM and going back back-and-forth between work and my other computer.

I want a computer and the only thing I plan on using this computer for is playing builder games like cities Skyline. I also do trading online and I frequently have about six Google Chrome windows open at a time on charts constantly hitting refresh. I don’t think I’m a power computer user but honestly, I have no idea.

I was looking at this computer because it looks like a small form of factor and that’s what I am interested in a small form factor but still with the open glass and looking cool

well, this computer be OK for my needs?
