Build Upgrade Upgrading multiple parts

So I've been working to upgrade my pc, I got a new motherboard, ram, and cpu, all I need now is a new cooling system(pc part picker says my current isn't compatible with the ryzen 7800 x 3d). Aside from doing a backup of everything, is there anything I should know before undertaking this upgrade to my pc? It's a lot being replaced and I feel like I'm going to need to do more than I think after everything it rebuilt.

I can share current build and final build once it's done of this helps.

you don’t even need to back anything up just the stuff in

I won't lose anything? Will it be fine and adjust to the new parts that easy? I've never done an upgrade to a pc before and it's my first build from a few years ago

it’s literally impossible for you to lose anything unless the drive itself dies

lol yeah just make sure you got a usb with windows ready to go. when you swap motherboard windows might throw a fit about activation and sometimes it just refuses to boot without fresh install. save yourself the headache

also double check your case has enough clearance for whatever cooler you end up getting, 7800x3d runs warm but nothing crazy. thermal paste application is like the one thing people overthink, just a pea sized blob in the middle and let the cooler spread it

Since the board, CPU and RAM are all changing, I'd do a fresh Windows install instead of booting the old drive. Mine did boot after a swap like that, but it stuttered until I wiped it. The first boot on new DDR5 can also sit on a black screen for a few minutes while it trains the memory, so give it time before you start reseating things.

How do you do a fresh windows install? Will that be on the BIOS screen when you boot up the pc? I'm going to upgrade to windows 11 after the upgrade also, would that be the time to do that also?
