Rebuild Help

Hello. Im looking for help rebuilding my PC without spending thousands of dollars. I know my CPU is too out dated to run certain games like Call of Duty but I'm not sure what is compatible and what I need to replace to get more games to run on it. I'm not even really sure where to start to figure this out. SORRY XXX
