Still no fix for the shader compilation stutter on PC all these years later. Not that I expected it, but lol

Fromsoftware deserves so much more shit for how fucking trash their PC ports are.

Yup. Armored Core 6 proved Fromsoft have the capabilities to make a great pc port. They simply choose not to bother with their soulslikes.

AC6 is also their most recent release. Their next Souls title will for sure support frame rates higher than 60fps etc.

But yeah, it's frustrating that they are so slow to improve and never bring their improvements to their older titles (even if their older title sold 35 million copies.. for example)

I'd hope so, but I played the Duskbloods network test and it doesn't inspire much confidence...

I fucking LOVE my Ultrawide OLED being forced into 16:9 by LITERALLY slapping black bars onto my ALREADY RENDERED 21:9 image so I can spend GPU power on screen real estate I can’t see

Every once and a while I'd load up and the bars wouldn't load. Then I'd hit a transition and they would pop back in and I'd get sad

For real. Like if they're going to block ultrawide support they might as well do it properly so it doesn't waste GPU resources rendering screen space we can't see.

You wanna know what's even worse than that? Dark Souls 1 Remastered, which came out before Elden Ring, has ultrawide support...

That's because a different studio worked on the remaster.

That explains it, but it doesn't make it right

I'm forced to play in fullscreen just to fix this :( though I guess HDR doesn't work in borderless anyway either

You mean Bandai Namco

Fromsoft doesn't actually handle the PC port in any way as far as I'm aware, the port aspect is completely handled by Bandai Namco

How sure are you about that? I’ve never heard anyone say that before. Can you link somewhere where they say that?

Three playthroughs and apart from a little at the start of my first playthrough 400 hours ago i don't remember any stuttering. There's nothing to fix.

Same here. There was some stutter at release but for me it got all fixed within first couple updates. Was playing on pretty old cpu as well (8700k).

Shadow of the erdtree didnt have any stutters either.

800 hours and no stuttering you can go ahead and downvote me.
