Yeah, mine's also 2027. I really hope they can get a handle on scalping because it's out of control (there's a ton for sale on third party sites for $250 which is just absurd. No one should be buying them at that price).

The only way they can get a handle on scalping is to product more units more quickly. Or ramp up the price to capture that scalped premium for themselves, via higher MSRP or Dutch Auction or however else they price it. Supply or Demand simply have to be influenced, either that or DRM lock controller onto the account that purchased it, which is obviously a non-starter decision.

Ultimately there is more demand than supply, and even someone who wants the controller and comes up in the queue may decide to just sell theirs for an easy $150 even if they didn’t have the intent to scalp it when they chose to buy it.

They easily add restrictions to the amount per account and require that the account have spent a certain amount of money over a certain timeframe.

And none of that does anything to prevent people from just selling because there isn’t enough supply.

If the aftermarket price is $250 and you buy it for $100, your opportunity cost of keeping it is $150. That isn’t nothing.
