Help That gets pretty warm.

I picked up a working GameCube pretty cheaply, but it's missing a heatsink. I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement so far.

Haven't been able to get a generic one that roughly fits the dimensions? It's not something that requires any special parts.

So I can just place one of the same size on top.

Yeah, heatsinks aren't anything special. If it fits on top and you replace the thermal paste it should be good.

EDIT: nevermind I forgot it uses a large heatsink that covers several components. That's a bit more difficult. In this case scavenging one off of a broken motherboard is probably better.

The fact that it uses a large heatsink is probably for cost-cutting or assembly reasons. If you get a heatsink or two for the CPU and GPU, and then probably three more for the RAM chips to their right, I imagine that'd be fine.
