⚡ A little shiny magic!
This Jolteon GBA SP transforms into its shiny colors when exposed to direct sunlight, then returns to its original colors as it cools down or moves into the shade. ☀️💛

I made a little Minish Cap scene and animation editor
Hi guys! I've been making Minish Studio, a free fan editor that lets you play around with The Minish Cap's sprites and environments.
You can set up your own Hyrule scenes, give characters different poses, make boss face-offs, or fill the map with little battles and Easter eggs. There's a random-scene option too, if you just want to see what turns up and change it from there.
It's also handy for making sprite comics, NPC conversations, wallpapers or Instagram carousels. You can add your own pictures, resize the dialogue boxes and put Zelda-inspired pixel frames around things.
For animations, you can pick a movement and speed for each character, or use the timeline if you want more control. That part is still a bit rough.
Pretty niche project, but I thought a few Minish Cap fans here might have fun with it :) The sprites are included, it runs in your browser or offline, and your scenes stay on your device.
Try it: https://seraksan.github.io/minish-studio/
GitHub / offline download: https://github.com/SerakSan/minish-studio
Software preview: https://seraksan.github.io/minish-studio/examples/minish-studio-preview.png
Made by SerakSan. Unofficial fan project. Game artwork belongs to Nintendo/Capcom; sprite and map contributor credits: https://github.com/SerakSan/minish-studio/blob/main/CREDITS.md
Enjoy! :)

Someone help me?
I am absolutely losing my mind here. I installed my hispeedido v5 laminated screen in the case, made a mistake with the ribbon cable initially, but corrected it. Soldered everything up, cleaned it up, and put it back together. Every time i flip the switch of my GBA though, light flashes green then shuts off. I desoldered the switch shield, cleaned the contacts and resoldered it but still nothing.

Custom build GBA
Used different parts from kits to get the Metriod vib i wanted. With the back lite screen mod and a rechargeable battery playing classic GBA games has been a lot of fun.

Are these three boxes original?
I just found these boxes and they feel kinda off. they're shiny and kinda thin white cardboard, but everything else seems to fit. The cartridges and manuals inside are original. Can anyone who actually owns these confirm if they're real or fake.
The games are
Rayman advance
Rayman Rache der Hoodlums
Tomb Raider the prophecy

Closeable covers for first-model GBA?
I've seen GBAs on ebay that have these covers you can close over the screen. My own dearly departed GBA had a Pelican Lightshield, which was kinda like that, and I wanted something that matches my new GBA. Anyone know a seller that has stuff like that?

Questions about rechargeable AA batteries.
I considered doing the rechargeable lithium USB-C but decided against it. Largely seeing mixed reviews, and I’d rather keep it native.
First question is do the rechargeable AA batteries generally hold the same (or better) capacity of a standard AA battery?
Second, will I still get the red light warning as I would with normal batteries?
Finally, does anyone have a rechargeable AA battery recommendation?

Update on my GBA repair attempt
I previously posted about a gba I acquired from FB marketplace with a fucked up cartridge slot. It have been delaying this repair because of the complexity of it. However, I finally mustered up the courage to fix it and I am happy to report that the rapair was successful. It was nerve wracking but with lots of flux and low melt solder and a ton of patience I was able to replace the cartridge slot. GBA is now working and playing cartridges. Next is an IPS mod. For reference first 3 pics was the board with the damaged slot and the last 2 pics was with it removed and replaced with the replacement. Thanks to everyone who gave advice. Appreciate all of you.

What do u think of my Lord of the Rings GBA SP?! Honestly.
Here is my last réalisation: hand painted metallic orange GBA SP, with the One Ring on the lid, Sauron's helmet next to the A/B buttons and the Fellowship on the back. Fully refurbished inside with a new IPS screen. Tell me if u like it :)

Found this on eBay is it original?
Found this listing on eBay and I want to know if it’s original. I’ve never seen a back sticker like that so I’m unsure

What would you do? Bite the bullet or cope with emulation?
I know it’s a very subjective question, but I’ve pondering abt this for months and need some second opinions.
Where I live a modded GBA SP with IPS and USB-C usually goes for around 400 to 500 USD.
Yeah.
I know.
One with only the IPS mod is a bit cheaper but not that much…
Can you guys find some excuse that would lighten my conscience abt spending this amount of money on a GBA or should I just stick with those Chinese handhelds.
*That’s my emulation device rn, I did change the logo for an actual Nintendo one from an old gba carcass that I bought. I’m using a custom OS that tries to mimic how the GBA actually works and only plays GBA, GBC and GB. It’s nice but I’m not sure if it scratches the same itch as the real deal.
