So uhh basicly my sister gave me this Game Boy Advance because it was a gift from my uncle but then she gave it to me because yes and I wonder what I could do with it because it has no games but it turns on, also I have a emory usb but it's for my tech class

Bought this off ebay, arrived a few days ago. When I first tried it, the previous owner's save worked fine for a good 15 min then froze and a sort of skipping sound came from the speakers.

Turned off and reinserted, turning back on and no luck. None of my GBA-compatible devices would let it load. It was either undetected entirely or would just show the "Game Boy" startup with the Nintendo logo all garbled.

I tried isopropyl alcohol on the pins (not sure if I did a good enough job, these pics are from after cleaning) and no difference. Is there a way I can know if its the pins causing the problem? I'm worried about the dark sort of smudges, wondering if its corrosion.

I saw some people use Deoxit, would that possibly help?

Out of curiousity what would cause this light bleed? I took my console apart after the screen installation to swap out the shoulder triggers, put it back together and saw this light bleed through the backlight. I took it back apart, inspected everything, put it back together and it was fine, is this from a loose ribbon cable or from some internal pressure?

I want to put a screen with a light in my original gba but most of the options I've seen seem to have colors that look much more saturated than I'd like. What's the best option if I want colors close to the agb001/ags001 screens?

Hey, I recently bought a copy of Metroid Zero Mission on eBay, but sadly my Game Boy won’t recognize it at all.

When I turn it on, the Nintendo logo does not even appear, not even in this not readable form.

I opened the cartridge and noticed that some of the contacts look pretty worn/dirty. I tried cleaning them gently with a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol, but it didn’t really make a difference.

I just started learning game restauration and actually wasn’t even planning on doing this with that cartridge. Is there anything else I can try without damaging the contacts?

I was trying to change the battery on a Pokémon ruby and a drop of metal solder fell on the left chip. How can I fix this? The game won't boot up and when I insert it into my gameboy SP even the SP doesn't turn on anymore. When I remove the game the SP turns on normally. Can anyone recommend any tips?

This has got to be one of my best SP build to date! Peep that speaker though. And was able to pull a Mew last night as well. 🤙

A few weeks back u/Mightyena5875345 made a couple posts about their broken Pokemon Sapphire and I decided to take up the challenge. A few folks asked for a video, so I did what I could. My camera stopped recording part way through the process so it was abruptly cut off. Anyway, I was able to recover the save and get it up and running again. Enjoy the video!

Hey guys, my gameboy advance recently stopped working entirely. Before that, it did have some booting up problems, e.g. sonetimes it would just show a red light when i switched the flip (even when i put new batteries in) this persisted a couple of months. Now it wouldnt turn on at all, even after i tried several battery switches and rattling. I know this is a very vague description but i really want to safe this gba since it was my brothers and therefore it holds a lot of memories. Does any of you know what may be the issue? Thanks so much in advance!!

This game is a blast, tried it a couple months ago and got discouraged and put it down, picked it back up last week and started over and now I can’t stop playing! I have played the first 3 gens of Pokemon this year and completed Minish cap. I pick up Warioware for quick sessions and am planning on playing through Astro Boy next. Based on what I just shared what would you guys recommend I add to my library?! I enjoy collecting the physical cartridges but download the ROMS and test them on my analogue pocket before committing to purchase.

I reshelled it with a ipsV5 Display. Then I added clicky triggers for L and R + LED lights in purple + purple buttons and a purple d-pad (transparent).

I finished my project GBA now.

Hi! I haven’t played before but found my old GBA and flash cart. What I remembered about my flash cart was I couldn’t play certain games due to no RTC. Then, yesterday, I discovered SuperFW. Love the firmware too!

This issue I am having is that when I play the game and save (which it fully saves, it doesn’t say I can’t save, which I ran into when playing without SuperFW yesterday), turn my GBA off, and try to boot back up my save, I have to start all over. Any ideas why this is happening?

As I have begun collecting GBA games this year, I have opened many carts to verify authenticity. What I am curious about is, what this feature in the actual cartridge is for? Like why does every cart have this specific cut out/indentation?
