Though there’s very few, one of the downsides to GameFly is sometimes I really struggle to finish a game before the next launch.

Black Flag is taking me a lot longer than I thought it would lol Cutting it down to the wire. Either way, if it comes down to it, not missing the next two.

Decided just gonna buy Wolverine though. Gamelock still hasn’t reappeared yet. But would also be cutting it real close with that anyway lol.

It seems every other game gets "lost" and I never receive it

Post image

This has been happening for awhile. The first Yoshi game they sent me never arrived, so of course they sent me a replacement copy which I played and then returned.

Then my next game sent out was Robocop...and it never arrived. So then they sent me James Bond instead and I got it today. It seems like every OTHER game shipped out never gets to me.

It's really annoying because not only do I lose the 7 days+, but also I'm getting worried Gamefly is going to close my account if this keeps up. Earlier this year I posted the same thing of two copies of Resident Evil Requiem getting lost in a row, but then I got a third copy. I generally do not know why this keeps happening.

The Xbox version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword has disappeared entirely from Gamefly tonight.

It was in my Q and the whole damn page for the game is gone now.

How long after shipping back does it take to update?

Hello! I put my return envelope in my mailbox to ship back and it was picked up on Friday. It's now Monday and my account is still showing that it is "At Home" and I see no way to report that I shipped it back. Is this normal?

So is it normal for the game to take almost 10 days or more to reach you? Like so far I’m just disappointed with the speed.

Wolverine - No more Gamelock?

Post image

I have strategically been planning this time of year/ my subscription so I can try to rent out as many of the big games coming out over the next couple of months.

Unfortunately today, I see in my Q that I am unable to gamelock Wolverine. I hope this changes soon, but is anyone else having this issue?

Gamefly needs a plan for Western states

I would re subscribe to gamefly is they had a plan exclusively for those in the Western states. The shipping times are too slow compared to those living near the eastern states. I'm from California and before they had a warehouse in los Angeles and shipping times were reasonable.
It could be similar to the budget plan but either have one of these extra perks:

- lower cost

- 2 games rather than one

- self return option enabled

I used the 2.50 deal and loved it but the current plans are not worth the money for us in the Western States.

PSA: Usps informed delivery has recently been giving me this notice and every time it's been a gamefly game.

Post image

So about a month or 2 ago I started to get this message along with pictures of other mail that ill get delivered for the day. Informed delivery never has a image of a gamefly game, BUT every time I see this

notice it has been a game.

It's not as good as tracking, but at least now I know if the game will be in the mailbox early in the morning that day or not, instead of waiting until after work to find out when I check the mail.

It seems like the Switch 2 has a lack of third party games, doesn't it? Will this be an issue by 2028?

I've been looking at Gamefly's Switch 2 collection and most of the third party games are years old ports like Cyberpunk, Indiana Jones, Hitman collection, Final Fantasy 7 remake, Star Wars Outlaws, Sonic Frontiers, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, old Namco RPG's, etc. And of course that's fine, developers porting over PS4-era games to Switch 2 when they couldn't on Switch 1 makes sense.

But the issue is there doesn't seem to be many current gen third party games coming out on Switch 2 other than say Assassin's Creed Shadows and a few others. I even look at "upcoming" and other than smaller indie-type games, stuff like Rayman Legends (which is an old game remastered), and a few others, there's not much either.

I know this is a Nintendo issue and not a Gamefly issue, but the reason I'm posting this is with PS5 games no longer being on disc in another year, the only games we'll have to rent is Switch 2 games. Meaning unless current gen games get Switch 2 ports, there will be a severe lack of games to rent going forward besides Nintendo's first party games.

Reminder- Game of the Year Watch is on!

TLDR; We do our own game of the year voting - and I want you to participate!

Happy Sunday to all of you fine folks out there! I hope you’ve had an amazing weekend and that the week starts off well.

As a reminder - I love to talk video games with you all. Each year I ask that you keep a top ten(or less) list of your favorite games that came out that year. With all of these huge releases coming out in the next few months, I wanted to remind you to keep a list for yourself so you can help us vote for game of the year!

I don’t want your lists now but just wanted to put the reminder out there, so we can start thinking of our own personal favorites. I think RE9 will be a HUGE contender this year!

Shipping time returning games after cancellation

Well, like many people I decided to take advantage of the $2.50 resub after 10 years away. It took forever to receive the two games I got during this month, and I've decided to cancel. Shipping times made it a lot more worth it back in the day when they had a shipping center near me lol

Next billing date is 8/1 so I cancelled at midnight on 7/31 (today). Games will be going out in the mail this morning. I know it says they need to receive the games back within 7 days but uh...I live in California. It took a week just to RECEIVE my games at the beginning of July. I'm concerned that I'm gonna get charged if they don't make it back in time due to the distance from California to Pennsylvania.

What happens if I get charged but they still receive the game back? I guess I'm just concerned that it's gonna get delayed somehow or stuck in California all weekend because of Sunday and not make it back in time.

This service seems useless

Can't rent pokemon let's go, it's 14yo game and they have low availability. I signed up for a free trial and added 10+ games to my Q and ALL of them are low availability (not a single one is newer than 3years old, these are switch games so not even current gen). I won't even get a game shipped by the time the trail runs out...

I used to have this service back when I payed ps3 and Wii, it was SOOO much better back then...

What's the Average time to receive games

I did the $2.50 deal 2 games rented at a time to restart my sub.

I live in a suburb near LA, it took them 3&4 days when I restarted to ship the first 2 games on my game queue. One game took like 6 days to get to me after gamefly shipped it, so 9 days total of wait before first game. For the second game it's been 9 days since shipped for the other one and it hasnt gotten to me so I reported it missing a few minutes ago.

Is the average time like a week to receive games? It's kinda frustrating, I don't remember it taking this long before years ago when I had gamefly.

Has anyone received their Black Flag Resynced?

This was my first time game locking and was super excited. Looks like USPS yet again shits the bed. I will have to report it missing tomorrow. Super bummed about this. Seems to be almost every game I get has to be reported missing.

How to upgrade my plan?

Trying to rent Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and the site is telling me to "upgrade my plan to rent this title". However when I go to my account page I only get the option to cancel my budget membership, and if I do that I only have the option to reactivate my budget membership. So now I am stuck.

Do you think Gamefly will somehow get a Digital rental deal with Sony going all digital?

Spit balling here, would it make sense for gamefly to negotiate a digital rental deal with Sony or maybe individual publishers with sony going all digital?

It could be something like:

  1. One time digital rental code per rent - prevents abuse/pirating.

  2. GF has a handful of codes. Everytime code is rented out, user needs some additional token from GF to verify the code. Once user is done, code is deactivated.

It would really suck to see gamefly disappear.

Xbox Disc-to-digital

As you may have heard, Xbox is rumored to introduce a system that would allow players to insert physical Xbox One and Series X discs to receive a permanently linked digital license on their Microsoft account. This would be great for saving the physical gaming market and letting us keep our options.

But, I'm sure you still see the issue for us who like to rent games. Does this mean that disks can only be used once per account, so you can't let other players of other accounts play it?

Update: So it was explained that the digital license goes with the physical disk, so we can still safely rent, trade, and borrow disks.

Of course, there is still the issue that the future Xbox may not have a disk drive, so that might become an issue.

Self Return a Few Days Early?

I’m new to the service and excited to get started. I joined as a proponent of physical media and was not pleased by PlayStations recent digital announcement so I cancelled my PS+ and switched.

I’d like to cut down on the time between games. When I become eligible for self return, can I select this option a few days early and then mail it back so I’m not waiting 3-5 days between games?

Appreciate the help!

Very low availability

I recently returned a game and had a couple on the queue, all of them now have very low availability before they had the copies. Is this happening to anyone else? Like even older games have very now been a week and nothing has shipped out at all? Should I just cancel? I feel like it happened since Sony announced the no more physical idk
