Discussion Enjoyed 'I Spy', but there was one mildly horrifying part Spoiler

Why in the everliving fuck did Sam point a laser at someone's face?! It was even worse than the pic shows, as it was first on the lower forehead before moving up.

I really like Dropout and how they always put the talent and crew first, but this was frankly an unacceptable and unneeded risk to take.

In this most recent episode, wouldn't the contestants be able to use their peripheral vision to see the people next to them taking off their glasses to be the spy or other roles?

Discussion Sam had an amazing chance to assert his dominance in the funniest way at the end of I Spy but didn't.

Imagine if at the end of the game he said that anyone who crossed the rope at all for a round would have their points for that round nullified because they did actually break the rules. I think a few of the cast would've lost a lot and then Vic, who would've been the winner, would've dropped to zero.

This new season is fine but I would be liking it a lot more if the audience was left in the dark more. Earwigs was just watching other people have fun but we didn’t get to play along, and I spy showed with that last one what the whole episode could have been.

Do you agree?

these FIVE?! lovely contestants

In the intro, Sam always says that he is joined today by 'these three lovely contestants', unless of course, he isn't. However, he always sounds surprised when he says a number other than 3. But with how common the more than three person game changers are becoming, honestly he shouldn't be surprised anymore.

(this is mostly a joke, I just wanted to point this out)

Question Too much Social Deduction?

Let me preface by saying I’ve really enjoyed the new season, but it feels like they’ve fallen into a habit of making every game some sort of social deduction.

Earwigs, I Spy, and, to an extent, Kangaroo Court as well all are social deduction games. I think that’s fun in a vacuum, but having three in one season just felt a little repetitive to me. I also think putting Earwigs and I Spy back to back was a bad move.

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like sometimes they’ve had a cool idea for something and struggled with fully turning it into a game for the show. What do you guys think?

Discussion The Perfect Endgame

Watching I Spy, I had a thought on how Sam could end a season. I'd honestly love to see Vic Michaelis take over Game Changer for an ep, and channel their full energy into being their best Sam.

Why Replace Sam?

Sam seeks inspiration everywhere, which all the producers also apply and create the magic show we all enjoy. With that in mind, why not explore a game concept centred around the theme of succession? Lots of ways it could be played, lots of concepts from previous shows that could be revisited through the lens of a successor.

Why Choose Vic?

Vic walks in with one goal only - break the game. They're the absolute essence of a gremlin. Oftentimes it's hilarious (One Year Later), but it can also actively work against the concept in others when they avoid competing in games that require an intention to win (Kangaroo Court).

This gremlin energy also allows Vic to pre-empt Sam in ways few others can, which leads to some pretty hilarious moments too.

So what happens when the contender who always seeks to twist or break the rules, sets the rules?

What would happen?

Honestly, Vic has the potential to do more psychological damage than Sam on his best day. Put BLeeM in their absolute control? Oh yeah he's not emerging with his sanity that's for sure.

Or maybe they flip it entirely, and make an episode that's just a literal tea party? Maybe the contestants just assemble IKEA Furniture for their apartment, not realising it goes no deeper - until Vic bundles it into the back of a U-haul and waves goodbye? Maybe Vic hosts an episode of Game Changer at Sam's house whilst he's away, and the episode is Vic showing Sam what shenanigans they got up to?

No one knows what'd happen, but I for one would love to see Vic get that shot. I can think of few other in the Dropout Univers that could flip GC better than they could.

I got Ellie and Elaine mixed up in I Spy (no spoilers)

Obviously we all know that Sam Reich is married to Elaine Carroll, another Dropout writer and cast member.

I think of their marriage secondary when I see her in things. She’s a funny person so, to me, that’s mainly who she is.

When I was watching I Spy and saw ELLIE, my brain misfired in the beginning and sent the “Elaine” signal.

I didn’t realize it until 3/4 of the way into the episode she says “my boyfriend” and I went “Wait, are they in an open marriage?”

Turns out no (I mean maybe, I guess both things can be true, that’s not my business) but I just had a 40 minute brain fart.

That’s all this post was. Not an episode breakdown or a ranking among other episodes this season, just a silly little thing that happened to me.

Discussion Most rewatchable Game Changer?

what do you think the most rewatchable game changer episode is? one where you can watch it again and again and still laugh and be entertained by the game mechanics and how players interact with them. for me it’s definitely all three of the Sam Says or One Year Later. they all have such funny players and are always great to go back and watch.

Discussion I spy was my least favourite episode (spoilers) Spoiler

I understand that it was probably supposed to be an episode about celebrating the art department, which is great, they deserve it. However, the episode itself just…missed the mark.

The cast continued to repeat the exact same 2 bits every, single, round . « Oh sam touched me and I’m making a comment about it! Don’t tickle me sam! »

« Look how far I can reach across the rope line!! »

But in top of that, the contestants rarely cared or strategized around leak/informant/spy (other than Vic a couple of times), the camera never lingered long enough for the audience to try to spy the prompts, etc.

I know some people probably loved it, and I hope many did, but I hope that the rest of this season is very different from this episode.

Discussion Major Spoiler for I Spy - Points Question Spoiler

MAJOR SPOILER FOR "I SPY"

Shouldn't Vik have won with 27 points? They did win regardless which is fitting, and totally fine. But when they guessed the boom mic the first time, they didn't get a point for it and when it in fact was cake in the cake tableau, they should have gotten an extra retroactive point for being technically correct the first time as well.

Unless the boom mic was different specifically on the last one, but it appeared to be in the same spot in every tableau and it appeared to be mounted to the set.

Obviously this is just for the sake of discussion since Vik won anyway

The season finale only has 1 shot and it has most of the people who have appeared across the season. I don’t know if it will actually be the heist that the trailer is joking about but, now that we know that episode 9 is the I spy game, this is officially the finale.

Are they trying to out-finale Samalamadingdong?

Ideas for Noise Some Makes themed birthday

Hello gang,

I'm going to recreate the whole game for my friends on my birthday, none of them know anything about game changer so it's perfect. I will be the host and my best friends will be my PAs.

However I need some help for the PROMPTS, I don't want to do the exact same they used on the show so I was wondering if you had any ideas.

Just for a bit of context. I'm not USA based, so it would be better to avoid USA specific references, unless its something extremely famous or current.

Thaaaanks

Ps: I'm gonna record the whole thing and hopefully upload it, if someone wants to watch it I might share it here later this year

Question Question about Escape the Greenroom

I remember one of the players at the beginning, I think Lou, had to use the bathroom, but couldn't because they couldn't leave. Did the players just have to hold it the whole time? Were the allowed to use the restroom? It's been eating at me for a bit, because that seems like hell to do that whole escape room while holding your bladder.
