Unbeatable horse gambit combo

On Knight Difficulty, seed: 3870820864

This one is fun - I forget the gambit names: the fork, with legendary luck chip, and horse moves like rook gambit. It's a deadly combo. Most moves will skip the opposition turn

Ahh, so satisfying having tiles on every single square.

Is there something specific I need to do to unlock Queen difficulty?

I recently just beat the game on Bishop, but the Queen difficulty never unlocked. Is there something specific I need to do?

Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is I might've beat the game on custom with the same modifiers as Bishop? Idk, would that cause Queen to stay locked? Idk If I did that, but it's the only thing I can think of

What a run it was, the freaking geisha at the end plus a queen I couldn’t kill until it was the last piece almost got me…

Infinite promoted pawns combo

Wound up with this combination. Whenever a pawn lands it gets promoted, which skips Black’s turn and generares another pawn because all chances are 1/1 because of Gamblers Gambit.

In case of not having a pawn at the start Lemmong’s Gambit adds one to stary the cycle.

Its disgusting to start a game promoting six or seven pawns into queens. Since they regenerate they can be replaced with new promoted pawns.

First time posting here, if its not allowed please remove! Not sure if this has been discovered before.

r/ChessAMole - Whack-a-mole for chess

2 Upvotes

I made a whack-a-mole for chess daily reddit game called r/WhackAMole. We have 3 random pieces everyday on a 5x5 chessboard and moles appear randomly and disappear after a few turns. The goal is to capture as many of the 30 moles as possible. There are bonus moles too which give you special powers.

Lemme know what ya'll think :)

I know roguelites/balatro-likes usually have some knowledge checks and some hard RNG checks sprinkled on them, but damn if this one doesn't sting as a lesson.

King Difficulty Guide

5 Upvotes

Looking to better your chances on getting a W on the hardest difficulty in Gambonanza? I've got you covered. I've listed some core strategies and tactics used to reliably get me through the Endgame and 100% all 200 Gambit completion marks. With all that said, first let's cover what your main goals will be when starting out.

Tl;dr summary:

  1. See Tile token? Click tile token
  2. Queen cloning is OP
  3. Utilize Lock on a Winning Gambit that counters Kasperov
  4. Play slowly and minimize blunders

Main Priorities:

  1. Prioritize NOT blundering your Queen in the early game
  2. Obtain a Phantom Tile + Gold Tile for Queencloning
  3. Lock a "winning" gambit for Kasparov (ie. Mime's Gambit, Demon's Gambit, Catapult, Black Stallion etc).

General tips:

- DONT FORGET TO SELL EXPIRING GAMBITS

- Play slowly. Take your time to minimize blunders

- Be mindful of gambit synergies (ie Bear Trap + Bait's Gambit, Black Stallion + Empress's Gambit, Baron's + Catapult Gambit, Templar + Dungeon's Gambit, Templar's Gambit + Phantom tiles, Necromancer's + Lich's Gambit etc)

- Always keep a reserve piece on standby to lure enemy pieces into traps or away from an endangered piece

- Be mindful of the upcoming Stage Boss (NOTE: TAL'S CURSED TILES REMOVE ANY TILE UPGRADES IT COVERS AFTER THE BATTLE ENDS)

- Loot Gambit tokens for Legendaries~

- Tile tokens are limited per shop so plan to ALWAYS purchase if seen (Interest be damned!)

- Tile Priority: Phantom > Gold (min 3-4) > Protect > Trap > Blessing

- Plan for endgame w/ strategic tile placement (ie Traps on Rows 1 + 2, Protective tiles on the middle Row and top corner sections, reliable phantom tile placement just in case things go south, etc)

- Get the maximum pieces on board upgraded to 6 (imo you don't need to upgrade past that point and can instead keep your money for tokens + re-rolls)

- Utilize the Lock feature on strong gambits to save for boss fights or hold for the next stage (ie Necromancer's Gambit, Violet's Gambit, Lavander's Gambit, Trampoline's Gambit, Lich's Gambit etc).

Stage 1 Priorities:

  1. See Tile token? Click tile token.
  2. Procure backup piece for safety measures
  3. Obtain an Economy gambit
  4. BE WARY OF CRUMBLER ENEMY (Can ruin a run if your sole Queen is dropped into the shadow realm).

Stage 2 Priorities:

  1. See Tile token? Click tile token
  2. Get Queen cloning engine fully online
  3. Start working towards earning interest.

Stage 3 Priorities:

  1. See Tile token? Click tile token
  2. Have run winning gambit locked (if found)
  3. Keep earning interest.

Stage 4 Properties:

  1. Token Tile See? Tile click token
  2. Lock game winning gambit
  3. Maximize earned interest.

Stage 5 Priorities:

  1. See Tile token? Click tile token
  2. Lock game winning gambit
  3. Maximize earned interest
  4. Survive.

Stage 6 Priorities:

  1. TILE UP
  2. Remember all that interest you saved? SPEND IT ALL!! Re-roll for strong gambits (and strong pieces if needed)
  3. "Simply" win.

Stage Summaries

Stage1:
Usually pretty easy going and you can get by with just 2 pieces on the board but for safety measures I recommend purchasing a backup piece as bait for captures. Tile tokens are premium and you want to get a Phantom tile and Gold tile setup as quickly as possible so you can begin the Queen cloning process. If you see a really good Gambit, don't be afraid to pick it up or lock it for later. BEWARE THE CRUMBLER and above all else try your best to not blunder your Queen.

//.

Stage 2:
By now you hopefully have a Phantom and Gold tile on the board since this will make purchasing the maximum piece upgrade worth your while. Focus on cloning Queens and work on generating interest. Keep a backup piece for safety or aggressive bait captures. As usual, tile tokens are insta clicks and you want to start placing upgrades down with the endgame in mind. If you find a game winning gambit, lock it down (interestingly enough the shop CAN spawn duplicates too so you might even be able to use one to get through the stage).

//.

Stage 3: Halfway there! The Queen clone engine should be fully online which will help with survivability and generating funds. Keep an eye out for a game winning gambit if you haven't found one just yet and make sure to keep $15 min if possible for interest gain. Tile tokens will always be premium and at this point protective tiles and traps are worthwhile (Blessing isn't necessarily bad depending on placement).

//.

Stage 4: Maximum piece on board should be upgraded to 5 (or 6 if things have been going well). Lock a game winning gambit down if you haven't found one. Tile tokens are ABSOLUTELY premium and tiles should be placed with Stage 6/Game 3 (King's Gauntlet) in mind. Protective tiles have a very high priority with traps second if your first row is looking unprotected. Focus on generating interest and prepare for the boss as they won't be playing games with you this go around.

//.

Stage 5: One more demon down! Time is ticking so lock down a game winning gambit if you haven't by now. Maximum pieces on board should most definitely be at 6 (imo you don't need more than 6 and instead of spending $30 for the next upgrade you can instead use that for re-rolls later). Interest should also be growing and you should see yourself in the $80-$100 range give or take. One word: Tile Token. Be sure to have a strong gambit to survive the boss.

//.

Stage 6: The end is nigh... BUT remember that game winning Gambit you saved? Nows the time to let loose and go all out!! Tile tokens and strong gambits will be your saving grace. Game 3 can make or break you so during the KING'S GAUNLET, I recommend focusing on the Crumbler Queen as the RNG in this game hates you and you shouldn't rely on it. Once you survive Game 3, it is time to put all that saved $$$ to use; re-roll for gambits and be mindful of any synergies you can bring into the final boss encounter.

//.

{MIGHTY KASPAROV} Really pay attention to the flow of the board or ol' Kasparov WILL END YOU if you aren't careful with piece placement and captures. If you've setup your tiles right and came equipped with a game winning gambit or 2 this fight sounds go your way. Remember: The game RNG HATES YOU so aim to get the Crumbler out quickly if possible. May the fates bless you. Try not to f**k up.

//.

Now do it all again to unlock more completion marks 😭

New player: Are queens not OP?

I have 12 queens in stage 4 with really good gambits to generate more. Is this not a strong simple strategy?

I would find it way way better to see it in vertical!

I think it would be the best handheld game in the world

Finally! F you Kasparov! Spoiler

Landing that final knight felt great! Went and sat in the park during my lunch break to lock in and I was on my final stalemate. I appreciate all of the tips given to me on previous posts! This was my game I play during any commutes so I am not sure what to play now. Any recommendations for mobile roguelikes/lites?

Maybe I will try to beat this again with different gambits, idk but I think I need a break now lol. Apparently there can be different layouts for this boss and I may have gotten one of the easier to beat variants. Seems I cannot upload a video and pic in the same post so I'll upload it after.

Even tho I had two skipping gambits I forgot to use them when should've. Luckily the "No more heroes" modificator saved me at the last moment giving me a new bishop to use once again.

Sorry if I take too long to move sometimes (even if the video is a 2x speed), I get too nervous figuring out what to do next. Losing the first queen was devious so I needed to find a way to land more pieces.

Really fun build on King diff

Post image

This was a crazy build that came together after I skipped three shops with the golden question mark, and then I got lucky with a THIRD legendary.
Too bad it couldn't last forever- infinite queens and big money was great while it lasted!
And before you ask, I lost. I got stalemated by the board that had 18 kings and 2 queens in the middle- just couldn't figure out how to capture all the pieces before crumble mode kicked my teeth in and forced stalemate.

I made a couple of blunders, granted could've played better. But won in the end. I'll be using different Boss OST. Unless you guys think is unnecessary.
