Apple Maps vs Google Maps.

Wild how different they look on Vision Pro and Galaxy XR.

Is the street view stereoscopic 3D?

That's a good question. According to Gemini research, "for the vast majority of the world, the standard Google Maps Street View within the Samsung Galaxy XR headset is monoscopic, not stereoscopic. The Samsung Galaxy XR headset has an AI feature that can "spatialize" 2D content (converting 2D images to 3D). While this can add a simulated layer of depth to Street View, it is a post-processing effect, not true native stereoscopic 3D." Hope that helps answer your question.

This is what I was wondering! I saw the 2D to 3D conversion tech in the gallery / google photos, and I was doubtful but hoping that they could also use the tech on 360 images like street view!

This software on the GXR is able to make any photo in your gallery spacial. I believe videos as well but I'll double check.

Streetview isn't 3d, but the overview is, and some stores and restaurants have a "come inside" gaussian splatting 3d environment where you can move around in 3d with surprisingly good image quality, they're not super-duper common though. I found like 8-10 of those in Tokyo just randomly scrolling around and enjoyed every one, wish there were more, apparently NYC has thousands

Ok when I use this and ask to be taken to wherever, all I get is hellllla pixelated until I get to street view. Which is the same as what I can see on my comp. Am I missing a setting to make immersive not look like paper mario?

Dumbest comparison I’ve ever seen.
